HB ARCHIVES: DungeonBuddy--DO NOT DELETE

I ran Timewalking dungeons this morning with my own 5 man team and the only boss I had constant wipes on was the first boss in Stonecore. They don't kill the ads on the way to the boss and the team blows up. Did 5 other Timewalking dungeons piece of cake with no wipes :)


Had the same..well, only tried that 1 boss, and I thought there is something I missed to configure..but apparently it's just that 1 boss?

I couldn't tell you exactly but that was my observation, Aion may be able to shed some light as to why (he is the king) but that was my experience. I only ran 5 dungeons in total for the weekly quest but all others that popped for me ran without a hitch :)
 
So i dont need to wait? You wont integrate something so important to dungeonbuddy?

Multiquene, change Spec.
 
Ok trying to use DB to farm an instance with another toon in tow. I set up farmer for leader and the other to follower. I set lead to farm and not pick up anything, the other to grab it all. The lead keeps killing the invite to the follower. I have done it before, I think as its been 2 years. Any kind souls out there?

Hey Bubba I don't know why but farming doesn't work like that. When I run Mythics you have to have no team names or follower/leader in the tab keep them blank on all toons. Then select farm from the drop down with the same dungeon on all 5 toons then press start on all when your inside the instance and it will run.

Aion will better explain the reason as to why but I can guarantee from experience it works that way. I had the same problem as you the first time I set it up did my head in working it out lol. Hope that helps

Mythics are different, and not relevant here.

There was no point to have Leader/Followers setup, just because you manually enter the instance with them - There is no queue for Mythics so far, and you cannot queue with randoms by mistake.
But this would happen if you do not setup Leader/Followers, while messing with the queues ;)

Actually, I still was not able to setup own 5 men to run several Timewalking this week, had work on the store, but planning to do it tonight.

P.S. Quite a few people have decent experience with Dungeonbuddy, and they run 5men dungeons and 10 men raids. I have learned Dungeonbuddy from them, while reading the same forum thread, we are in, past last year (or two).

What's up with that? How can I run dungeons with Honorbuddy?

This is not the way Dungeonbuddy can be ran.

After choosing DB as botbase, click its Settings GUI, and choose out of the 3 tabs - Dungeons/Scenarios/Raids, then from the pulldown menu use the option, which best suits for your character.

Thank you. Do you mean in-game settings by Settings GUI? Because I eventually realized that I need to click Bot Config to queue for random dungeons and change looting behavior. This did help, and I didn't have to Load Profile at all. So is that it, or is there in-game settings?

I did try to find the answer to this in the existing posts, but couldn't: I'm already aware of no tanking unless with 4 bots, but does Dungeonbuddy support queuing as either healer or DPS, and switches to assigned role if it's not already on the right spec when it enters a dungeon?

Nop, since I believe it could make quite a mess with 3rd party or store Combat Routines, supporting only 1 spec. But it looks technically possible, if Singular is used, but would need 3rd party plugin or something.

Fair enough. I just wanted to know whether it's possible or not. And in any case, DPS is much safer to stick to when botting in dungeons.
 
I took a look at the options of Class Config and couldn't find this, so figured I'd ask: Is there a setting to make a DPS character with healing abilities heal the tank if tank drops under 50% health, for example?
 
As long as you have the gear for a good steady group, it became much easier - sometimes it is enough to compensate the lack of "skills" with pure brute force dps :P But not always, of course.

Out of my last attempts, it seems having 710+ilvl geared tank helps alot on the trash along all the dungeons.

All the scripts are optimized for normal difficulty, and with this in mind, handling 2 packs at once is not serious issue on normal (its usually faceroll even in sub-100 lvl) but on Mythic its usually wipe with 2 trash packs on tank, if group cannot burn them out for 10-15sec, which is perfectly doable with the pet cleave on 3xBM hunters 700ilvl+. This is very noticeable on Skyreach, GrimRail Depot and UBRS trash packs.

Agreed tank is now 710 ilvl and trash is getting noticeably easier. Tried Skyreach and first two bosses where easy as pie but the third boss with the quils is a wipe for me, either the tank doesn't get back fast enough then he screeches with no melee and we die or when I controlled the tank to stop that the dps focus on the ads and don't get the boss down fast enough. Just can't work out a way around it :(

Tried Everbloom next which was also easy (trash inc) but the last boss I couldn't down no matter what. Haven't tried any others yet will get the chance to try the other Mythics and see how many bosses I can down. Still lots of fun trying :)

The issue is usually the healer, which move more than heal.

IN Everbloom, last boss's deadly mechanic is not scripted well enough, plus Entrampment is not first priority for killing too. Aka, it still need some work before being done afk by 5bots.

Check the other dungeons, its fun indeed!

Hmmm didn't think of it like that maybe it was the heals not getting into position fast enough will try controlling the heals on that boss and see how I go. Can't wait to try the other dungeons out and see what bosses I can down and what one I can't.

Perhaps an attached log and a confirmation that the healer of your group was indeed close enough to your character/tank when that message appeared would help.

More importantly, it is a big risk to tank by a bot when you have human players in your group, and this is mentioned somewhere on the forums or the Wiki. You are better off switching to DPS and DPSing when using the bot, then tanking only when you yourself are manually tanking. If you are using 4 other bots with your tank, then that's fine and a different matter.

If you're using Honorbuddy to solo old dungeons, then that's fine, too. I haven't done this, yet, so don't know the details; but I remember a reference somewhere on how to do this. You just need to change the Settings, Bot Config, and Class Config with the right options to solo dungeons. And even if your character is in a tank spec, you should be able to change the settings so it ignores any expectations from other non-existing players, or simply keep the spec to Protection or whatever tanking spec, while removing that the “role” of the bot is tank.
