Hello guys!

I'm creating a p.c. to run HB's, atm i've got the following setup:
AMD FX-8150 Black Edition -8 core, easy to oc
Adata HM-650 - what's live without power?
Samsung 830 series 128GB - ssd with good reviews
Corsair Vengeance CML8GX3M2A1600C9 Low Profile x2 - 16 gig's of horse power
Asrock 870 Extreme3 R2.0 - good bang for the buck

The only thing i'm really lacking at the moment is a good videocard, can you guys shine some light on what you are using and what you suggest to use?

Thanks!

What is your budget? How many bots are you planing to run?

A 7850 would be nice for its 2GB RAM, but costs ?170. While on the other hand a ?100 card might do what you are wanting.

Besides WoW is mostly a CPU dependent game - a half decent GPU would do the job fine if you turn all settings to low.

Trying to keep it below 1000 euro.
Planning to start out with around 10 bots and expanding it whenever the money is available.

Okay, but how much is left for the graphics card? We have no idea how much you paid for all your other parts:)

I'm sorry it seems i wasn't clear in my first message.
I haven't bought these parts yet it's just some parts that i thought to be good.

AMD FX-8150 Black Edition - 176,5
Adata HM-650 - 80
Samsung 830 series 128GB - 100
Corsair Vengeance CML8GX3M2A1600C9 Low Profile x2 - 88,8 (44,4 each)
Asrock 870 Extreme3 R2.0 - 61,4
Procc cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H100 - 94,--

Makes for a total of 600,2

Also gonna need a case, but that can be rather cheap.
Already got monitor setup etc etc

I think the AMD 7850 would be great for your needs. It would come under budget too. You could maybe grab a 7870 if there is not a large price difference.

For wow, there's no point in grabbing anything more expensive than that because it can easily deal with 10 wows without braking a sweat (on 3 Wows my 7850 is only 20% usage when not overclocked) then if you wish, you can completely overclock the graphics card like a boss since it can be pushed past 1GHz core clock. The 2GB RAM will also help when running several games.

Runs very cool and is part of the low powered line too:)

Performance Conclusions : World Of Warcraft: Cataclysm--Tom's Performance Guide is probably interesting to read. It's from early cata, but according to that an intel cpu does a lot better then any amd.

For the gfx card you don't need the top of the line and keep in mind you'll be running wow in dx9 mode. I'd go for a mid range card, but with lots of vram.

An SSD is great and I wouldn't want a pc without one, but not really needed if you just wanna bot. It will definitly speed up loading times, but the question is if you really need that. For multiboxing (manual play) I'd recommend it, but it's not like a bot is gonna complain that it's taking a few seconds longer to load.

I'm still doubting between going 2x mid range card vs 1x somewhat high end card.

Wowuser123 have you got any experience with using mid range cards?

Ehm... Highend GPU for WoW Botting?
Do you have experience with 10 Bot+ botting?

Otherwise I would not recommend it (if not fully automated you'll spend a lot of time babysitting the bots).

800x600 (or lower with editing in config files), lowest settings.
10 Bots will run on a lowend card with 30fps each.

Is this setups for 24/7 botting? Then I would pick an intel cpu.

No I dont have experience with 10+, I have been running 4 bots for the last 3 ~ 4 weeks and got a pretty decent idea towards profile setups and automating it.
Because these 4 have been running without issues while I was taking a holliday.

The setup is indeed for 24/7 botting, but why woul'd you pick an intel cpu? :)
And since my hardware knowledge is far from up to par, which one would you chose?

Why intel:
Performance/Thread is much better.
Performance/Energie is much better.

You have set up your bots with automated farming, relogging, crafting, ah ? With the use of multiple guild banks, bank toons, ...? Good!
You will need that, because 10+ bots have to run with 1 click per week (server restart).
Otherwise it's a pain in the ass and you waste time which you could use to work (and gain much more money).

btw: You are running 4 Bots or 4 accounts? 24/7 with 1 account would need more user interaction (create new accounts/chars), because you'll get banned a lot faster then with 3 accounts per bot.
With SoR accounts you've to expect to get banned within 2-3 months. Just use this to calculate your profits (still a lot).

SLI doesn't offer anything atm according to this Multiboxing Hardware Science! - Page 4 just stick to 1 card.

I never ran 10 bots (or 10 wows) so to that I don't really have experience with mid range cards. It's mainly from reading multiboxinig performance tests that I'd go for a midrange card with lots of vram. Something along the lines of an nvidia 560ti 2gb or ati 6950 2gb should do fine.

I came close towards automating everything, only one part (the crafting) i'll take some more time with to set it up properly.
But the one click a week is also avoidable, (windows task scheduler) but i guess you also already know that ;)

I was just running with 3 accounts, around 10 hours a day. Just noticed I lost them after 1,5 month.
Still made a very good profit. Plan on putting 3 accounts per bot subscription.

Do you need to start worrying with 10 accounts about relaying the internet trafic?
Or is Blizzard ok with such an amount coming from one location?

Interesting article, gonna give those multibox hardware reviews some more looks, interesting to read.
