[Guide] Decrease CPU & GPU usage while botting [D3Prefs.txt]

It's not even a secret as to how to do it. Wanting recognition for that. LOL
 
I wonder why a person writes a guide when he doesn's have a clue about the topic? I'm using mu d3 prefs for 3 months and mine is still better after many edits of yours d3prefs version (and I don't write such noobish "guides"). You need to lower the refresh rate.

and why cpu went 85 ---> 35% and not 99 ---> 1%? I'm sure these numbers you provided are way inaccurate!

Call me stupid but i didn't know you can reduce the quality so my gpu limited the amount of bots quite heavily so this thread helped me out, and if there are ppl who get helped with this thread there is no reason to blame the OP that way.
 
The bottleneck for botting is cpu usage, not gpu. I've got a workstation with gtx460 and I'm running 10+ vms there. I'm sure d3 prefs reduces GPU usage, but IMO it doesn't reduce CPU usuage by a lot. I won't measure mine cpu usage and I doubt that it that easy. My cpu usage jumps from 55 to 85-100 all the time, so I can say: "wow, it's now only 55%!" and then: "shit, 100% load!"...
 
well since i knew / thought that it only depends on cpu i bought a i7 3770 but a very crappy gpu so my gpu turned out to limit me
 
Hmmm, I found d3 prefs a LOT time ago on my own, gust used search button. It's better to stay quiet than start topics where each visitor finds many mistakes. And if you make a GUIDE you need at least to understand how things work.

For example mipbias setting. I've got 2.000000 value and 9.999999 just makes legendaries urecognizable and you won't be able to find crappy ones fast (to salvage) even without checking the stats...

And I see a really starter botter (2 bots) who finds the d3 prefs somewhere (and doesn't do any research), is amazed by mipbias shit graphics, posts a guide and waits when a ton of ppl will thank him :)

how much ram and what kind of cpu?
 
this did help my cpu load, but not as drastically as mentioned in the OP.

went from 100% load to 75-80 constant even under extra load with me streaming movies and stuff.
 
I was running at 69? and not it's 49?. A big diference. Thank you.
 
Great job ! My GPU went down significantly, the only problem is I can't see my health/mana bar, it is empty as if I'm dead. How do I make them appear?
 
Can someone link the original version just in case i want to play?

I copied over mine and its gone now :(
