[Guide] Decrease CPU & GPU usage while botting [D3Prefs.txt]

delete the file, should start the game up default (full screen with sound and what not , as if you just installed it)
 
It's a old file, but it's pretty good. Then again not much really changes with D3 Prefs.

CPU/GPU process went down between 1/3 to 1/2 previous performance after using this plus some of my own tweaks.

secret tweaks?.. ;)

if this file is old, maybe some1 can post the new one?.. more optimized? that decrease cpu/gpu even more?..
 
I have just tried this out. I did notice however that when using YAR it puts the game in full screen mode and not windowed mode. Is there a setting that affects that? Is there something I should change? Also any other link to useful info on editing the D3pref would be nice.
 
So does this actually help anyone? I've tried it several times and it has pretty much no effect on my CPU/GPU/RAM usage or temps.
 
AS much as this helps I hate it all at the same time.

you just can off the ALL graphics with prefs txt

can you say exact numbers you use for foreground and background fps?
 
Ok, so i've done everything, and its been working perfectly. My CPU usage dropped by 30%. HOWEVER, my brother went on my computer and pressed the defaults button in the settings to bring everything bac to normal. Now, i've been trying to put it back to what i've had modified, and no success yet :( I've redownloaded the file, replaced it again, and then restarted d3. It didnt change anything. Would anyone have any idea what i could try to do to make this work again? :)

I was finally able to fix it by changing by un-checking the read only tab.
 
Dropped my CPU usage 15 - 20% on each core. Thanks. Might want to change the resolution from full screen to windowed in the OP though.
