Growing trend - Selling a product and disguising it as donations

I love the what the mods have done but its sometimes i just idk what to think about this bot anymore

Just because of the bad comparisons I've read in this thread, I'll try my very best at this "art" now.

Imagine you get a free cheeseburger at any fastfood joint you like. That is a great sacrifice of resources & time for the producers, but still very nice of them.
But YOU want a double-cheeseburger and are asked to pay for it. Now I ask you: Would you really complain about the double-cheeseburger not being free?

Think about it.

P.S.: For those who do not get the references:

time = time
resources = anything that is needed for development/testing, e.g. 2nd monitor, Red Bull, RAM, paid versions of Visual Studio, C# programming books, etc.
free cheeseburger = free version
double-cheeseburger = enhanced version

No one told you had to sit down for countless hours its up to you and what you want to do and thats why there is donation so people can show that they appreciate what you did/made.

So? I see nothing of this violated anywhere. (And you can see that by the mods allowing this for at least the last 6 months.)

Following your argumentation, every working person is "volunteering" and therefore should not charge anything for what he does - because, well, it's his time.

Sorry to have disappointed you, but, in my opinion, there is nothing to be discussed anymore, as two of the most important mods on the forums have answered the OPs questions/concerns.

1. its being violated by selling(your term requiring donation) of a enchanced version on the forum.

2. i was asking you i was not telling you that you said that. Also by saying that Tony word is true but Also CodenameG said that if you want to sell do it elsewhere and people haven't done that they require donation (Purchase)

3. People get insulted everyday guess your gonna have to learn to live with being insulted.

4. Yes on this site i have a hard time telling the Difference between buying and Donating
 
Yo people who are complaining, Take a minute and think of the reasons why YOU are complaining. Only thing I can think of is you do not want to spend MONEY to get these Custom Classes. Like I said before, if you don't like it ignore it and move on. All this talk about, oh I guess were allowed to sell on the forum.. etc etc, frankly is a very stupid comment. Don't ruin the quality Custom Classes and profiles for us. I don't like following the bot train when I use node's so I buy a private profile, if you want to follow them go for it. In all honesty, you are DONATING to keep these developers drive going and with this they are allowing you to use THERE work. I don't see any of these people contributing to the community so your say means nothing.

Put it which ever way you want I AM DONATING so detailed, refined, and finely tooned products can be used. They provide you guys with a working Singular Custom Classes and MANY profiles to use from, so I really have NO idea what people are complaining about.

In my oppinion, mind you own fucking business and let me do me, let them do them. Iight.

I Agree but i just like Pushing things to the limit and see if i can get any real answers or to see if you no longer know what to say.

But you guys are charging by putting a Demo of a Purchasable Version err.... Donated version

That is due to the fact that the forum rules impose the term "donation" for such transaction, but not the devs' fault.

I believe that it might be time to change developer rules to allow selling since it's just being called another word. Cause that makes the devs not having to deal with this, like when they changed developer rules the last time.

But until then, I'll just post a link to my last reply about this.

To the people like me believing that it's wrong to charge people; I feel with ya, but I honestly don't think you should count on this ever going to be like before. Its sad yes and is in my opinion a step in the wrong direction for the community.

I must say there is a difference between "donate" and "required donation". What are the requirements? As you purposely stipulate that there is a "required donation" I would ask, where are these "requirements"? At any point where you put a price on said donation, does that not in fact turn it into a payment? Am I to assume based on the conversation that if I only have 25? that will suffice?

This is coming from someone who has donated to multiple people BTW...

I just don't like being forced in something. The community is here to support each other, not increase our bank accounts off one another. FFS we are all cheating... Paying to cheat better, just sounds ridiculous.

I say do it. Singular is very nice, so is PQR for those that actually play the game. Threats are so meh, in the face of criticism/complaint/opinions; we like to think forums are a democracy but its more like an aristocracy. Not sure I like that, but whatever, like a lot of users I'll roll with the punches.

I can only speak for Dunatank's Warrior CC, but, yes, even if that would only shovel transaction fees to PayPal and not reach the actual Devs at all, this would suffice.
