Got bored and read A LOT of threads on this forum and came to this conclusion...

The actual reason why there is a massive amount of trolling is that a significant number of people got banned, they have no $ to repurchase new sets of Diablo 3 for botting and thus have nothing else to do except to troll via Scorched Earth tactics.

Actually I was not banned, I just trolled the people crying about how they should chargeback vs blizzard.

I think you are way overestimating your experience with MMO/gaming forums, and I'm only saying think instead of know to not sound arrogant.

Majority of games are centered around young adult males, so I don't think I need to explain what entails with that. So you really only have two options actually DO read a lot of forums, and communities ( because I do not believe you have) and learn how they work. ex. Avoid obvious threads that will most likely go nowhere, but flaming ( ex. Amg (Insert) This Sucks, AMG ( Banwave ), AMG ( Nerf) , Learn to contribute by reporting bad posts, etc. Or just become more mature and learn that there are billions of different people and random % of them will be random x personality that bugs you. For instance I personally think this post you made is on the level of AMG BANWAVE INC FRIEND TOLD ME, and I also very much believe IB forum had much more 'degenerate' threads than this one.

Also, I do not think I have ever been to a forum that had a wide variety customer based forum with many customers having limited to no knowledge of the finer details of the product ( ex. A majority of people involved in this community have no to limited programming abilities, and their ability to contribute community wise is based on facebook/wow forums/and their general social interaction teenage males), or a forum that is generally not very professional/business based ( DB is a legally questionable bot for a VIDEO game, not a forum for stock brokers even then you'd be surprised amount of jock talk), that was generally free of useless threads/posts. A great example of this is elitistjerks.com, if you know of it. Is a prime, and great example of a respectful, and contributing community for WoW, but because of the strictness, and quality upheld alienates a majority of clientele ( which isn't too important since they don't sell anything, but to DB would take a chunk of their profits). MANY MANY MANY people like you think they uphold this level of quality, and respect, but they are usually quickly come to the realization they do not the meet the standards of respect, and quality of a community that thrives on these things. If you made a post on elitist jokes like you just made here, you would have been infracted, and reported most likely.

where is the line between flaming for the "greater good" and just being a prick?

No matter what you think of your intentions the moment you resort to "flaming" and general harsement you are out of line in any formal context. I am as guilty as anyone of snapping at some twit or even acting like a twit when it suits me, but we have gone a bit far in the forums recently. And, no I am not talking about my threads; I'm just speaking in general. These message boards are relaxed but we tend to abuse that and our fellow users.

Try to remember you were a stupid kid once; unless you had some perfect life filled with happy family, good schools, and you learned everything on your own; with no help ever from anyone.

If you have never asked for help or not been sure of what to do then I salute you and call you a liar; otherwise try to remember not everyone is a computer expert, pro gamer, or avid bottler with 15 years xp with asm and Ida pro....

I say bring some netiquette to these forums, the amount of teenage angst is quite extensive, there is the good ol' "having a laugh" and then there is a complete lack of respect.

If you disagree with someone, calling them a lack wit retard will not help get your point across in the slightest.

If you see an unprovoked flame, then I think it is a good idea for every forum member to let the poster know that their contribution is unwelcome, it can mayhap prevent them from posting something similar in the future.

Nah it isn't this forum. People just get dumber and dumber, lack reflexive thoughts and enrage those, that don't lack common sense.

If just calling them out on their stupidity would help. A nice world we would be living in.

First time i'm using a bot (didn't bot in WoW) and i must say this forum gives me a bad picture of botters. Lots of rude/ignorant people here. More then on other forums.

Clearly most of the flamers, especially on the banned forum, aren't Buddy users.

It's a mix of trolls and D3 players who don't bot who are jealous. So, it's actually equal regarding trolling, but we also have haters who tip the scales of un-favorability.

BuddyTeam Mods are too kind.

The other-bot forum Mods rule their forums with an Iron-Fist and eliminates all forms of free speech through key bans.

I wouldn't say too kind, but they're cool and comfortable with who they are. People that power-trip have a deficit in their lives or unhappy in general and project it. Like "straight" dudes that feel the need to exert their masculinity when in the presence of a gay person. Either (A). They're gay themselves and don't want to be discovered so they put on a facade or (B). They're insecure and misinterpret the attitude as confidence.

TL;DR other-bot forum mods have tiny dicks. DB's make pussies wet simply by exhaling.

this forum was a lot better before all the assholes showed up specifically for db, they are the assholes that got banned from using other bots and decided to come to this forum since its better.

...snip...

I honestly don't know why that Siferxxx or however you spell his name isn't banned from the forum, he is pretty much on every banned thread laughing at people and posting obscenities. Forum mods please start doing your job and delete posts such as his and others, and maybe ban those members who aren't doing anything but trolling?

He is banned.

Indeed.
It was much better a couple of years ago when buddy bots were less popular.
It got worse when Blizzard took Pirox bot down and everyone moved here.

I am new but I am still for maximum liberty. Do not turn this forum into a police state by prohibition of words. Truth in honesty some people should learn to post their log before complaining about help and that is all.

What about people that continue spam threads that have already been mentioned hundreds of times (often several in the same day)? The internet is diverse, nobody is going to accommodate your thin skin... I'm more than happy to help with a legitimate technical question, but if you're the 50th person in the past week to start a thread asking "How do I get over 150GF!?!? My GPH is 200 help!?!?" Then expect to get flamed.

People like you is why games/society is dumb-watered down now.

They add chat filters, because they don't want anyone to get offended.
Remove PvP, because in competition there are winners and losers... and everyone needs to be a winner now. (This can be applied to the 99% rallies... lazy hippies that don't want to work, but feel they should be making $30 an hour for unskilled labor)
Lets remove stat assignment as well... the possibility of making a "mistake" would dishearten someone.
Can't have fun game shows, because someone might get injured and sue.

League of Legends takes it 1 step further for pussies like you... Report someone for "Negative Attitude" and regardless of how much money/time they've spent on their account, they'll get perma-banned, because some self-entitled, social retard that grew up in-front of a monitor playing Tibia/Maple Story and SNES emulators doesn't understand the meaning of being razzed or bragging during competition (because they've never had any offline friends).

I can go on forever, but instead how about you build some character and stop whining... View the context of a flame for what it usually is, shaming someone in an effort to have them help themselves; in-turn growing as a person... Instead of having your IRL lifestyle translate on here of being a balding 30 something, playing video games in a dark room for 12 hours a day, surrounded by trash, smelling like shit, because you haven't taken a shower in a week. Never worked longer than a month, still living off your parents.

Oh how right Darwin was...

Repetitive threads are annoying but so is having to browse an entire forum for a simple question when the forum is one I don't plan on living under like some troll under a bridge.... I am not saying making a ton of repeat threads is ok but it would be nice to have that stuff in an FAQ......

Personally I blame the game makers for the games being shallow and watered down. There have been really good family friendly games before but they are rare. In the hardcore world, lol, the crap family friendly games would get flamed so hard for being shallow cheap shit with bunny rabbits and rainbow for a skin. Not because they were "trying to be family friendly" but because they would probably make your kids retarded if they played them.
Same for TV, most of it is oh no kill the bad guys turn them into the police or if you are the police arrest them. Fuck you holliwood, death before dishonor. There is a huge audience for this so no bullshit about oh there is no market for it. Plus they just stick a couple hoes into whatever crap movie they came out with this time and now atleast some people will watch whatever piece of trash for a story they resold this time.

Chat filters have there uses for dealing with basically verbal spam and while a well placed insult has its merit now and then there are tons of worthless spammers who don't know shit about how to use them. The league of legends system is kind of ok and probably doesn't see alot of misuse because you basically have to be a repeat offender to get put on trial and other LoL players judge you so if there was reasonable context for your flaming then you hopefully won't get punished. But once again for me its about spam, I start a LoL game and there's always two raging, spamming the chat, or negative attitude trolls and even if it isn't about me its not what i pressed play to experience. I wouldn't hang out with those people in real life, why would I would I want to put up with them in a game on my casual time. If I am working all the time and that's my me time I absolutely I would ban them for fucking drama'ing out on me on my me time.

Um that's not why I flame, I do it when someone tries shit on me or to me, but "you can claim I do to it help them" just don't claim I feel the same way. there is a difference between an insult and constructive criticism, both with there intended use. Like say the word troll and my usage about the last part of your spew. Remind me of an alcoholic raving about how nobody wants to put up with you and your kind when you guys drink. Those liberal bleeding heart bar tenders won't let you drink anymore unless you give up your key's that night and then kicks you out for making a scene, you poor discriminated against man you and its not really that your making the other patrons experiences unpleasant. Either you will feel insulted by this flame or being so fucked up already by your real life problems and the fact that some of this might have shown you the light to hold a grudge about libeling you. Oh and I am that guy in my parents basement so I am alowed to rip into you, fair is fair after all.

Darwin and alcoholic's how does that work...

Tell me if this is a halfway decent solution: upon creating an account for use on the forums, everyone would be required to tie their Demonbuddy key to it, with one account per key. Wouldn't this solve the dilema to the extent most people on this thread are looking for?

if you have a problem report the post and the person will be dealt with, the only reason some people don't get banned immediately like the guy in the OP's post is because we're all working on making our products better for you. we get e-mails every time you report a post. however today, i had to pass on about 4 off them, i am currently sick with a stomach bug, and couldn't deal with it at that point in time. however i am aware they happens, ever time i get an e-mail about a reported post my phone goes off. if i happen to be playing some halo or doing something else i try and get to it as soon as i can, if im asleep it wakes my ass up and i deal with it then so i can go back to bed.

what it comes down to is, if you cant post something constructive then don't post. its just that simple, if you see someone being a jerk, being rude, or talking about stuff he shouldn't be talking about then report his post and for the love of god, don't quote his post and engage and enable. its more for us to clean up, and time i could spend doing something much more productive.

follow the rules that's why we have them. if you cant do that and its to hard for you, feel free to forget where the post button is.
