It's insignificant by volume but you would be surprised how much you help them retain customers by being that icing. People just go to the next guy instead of waiting around for gold to come so i think my theory holds true if you set a limit on the price you'll take. A lot of this surplus gold is connected to accounts that last an average of 12 hours, and the lvl 1 accounts that purely mule gold all day get banned WAY more frequently than bots from my experience. This makes it hard to stockpile gold so resellers mainly work on demand which makes you just as important as the guy that has 10x more gold but is dry at that moment.
Trust me gold prices rise when you value your gold a little more. Losing even a handful of orders a day because you are out of stock as the reseller just isn't good business. I did this myself for D3 before OC started trade feedback and it's really just a mind game to earn your money it's not a consistent market it's something that takes a lot of patience and trial and error. Honestly when someone turns down your offer when you tell them your buy price it's usually shitty cuz you wanted their gold for a someone that is waiting on you and it just looks desperate to then offer them a higher price. 9/10 times you lose the sale unless you can quickly find someone else. With D3 it wasn't an issue as much but with wow you have all the seperate realms so you can't just grab it off anyone like you're thinking.
There's some TCG-dupe atm that was discovered like 1-2 weeks ago. That's why there's even more dumpage of prices.
And no, your 5-25 bots arent insignificant and just icing. The chinese dont have as many bots as you might think. It's probably around the vicinity of 4000 bots spread across a fuck ton of servers...As they need to cover the entire spectrum. And they all bot the same thing.
The thing that makes them better than us is that they got it down to a science:
1. Buy a ton of vanilla boxes
2. Enter CD-key into program that automatically creates BNET, logs in, Creates WoW game, loads info into their version of HBrelog.
3. Use stolen credit card bought from some shady IRC channel. Buy instant level 90.
4. Run their wallhack bot that does the first quest until bot has enough spells to manage.
5. Run and bot 24/7 Stonecore @ 50K/day (possible with their bot that uses all hacks possible to maximize profit).
6. Take the CC chargeback from VISA and the Ban. Careface
7. Rinse Repeat.
I think this instant 90 shit from blizzard was just a really weird idea.

A lot of price drops is due to cheap battlechest being offered by blizzard. Give it a few months, the 30 days on those account will expire and gold will come back up again.
