GM Chat and reinstallation of WOW afterwards

I just chatted with a GM and asked him some Questions and he gave me some answers. Don't judge me for grammar or spelling. I tried to play a little uneducated.
There will be long breaks in between the logged times, that is because of the original issue that I have with a new wow account.
I marked the part about that wee keep the Gold with BOLD letters.
I learned out of this chat 2 things. If i can trust it or not, I don't know.
1. Uninstall wow completely because it is sort of logged in there that there is a 3th party.
2. The do not check the registry.

Being that I've never used a 3rd party program - I could not confirm that those types of program write to you registry - if you know what program it was that caused this - usually that program will have an uninstall feature which should completely remove that program entirely.

This post was meant to be just as an information. I don't want to troll anybody.
I just wanted to say that a GM told me to better be reinstall the game to prevent me from being wrongly banned on my new wow account.
And i wanted to tell people what this GM said about my Character, items, and Gold on my suspended accounts.

It is entirely up to the reader if he or she believes what i post. The only thing you (frosticus) do, is trolling.

Is a copied text not enough? I was not aware that somebody like you would not believe it. I may have to post a couple thousand posts in this forum to get my voice an opinion and some weight. My account here is over 5 years old, i read a lot here. I don't want to argue I just wanted to give users an information that could save their next wow account or give them a better nights sleep with the thought that the gold will be still there in 6 months.

im not mad at you, im not trolling you, im opening your eyes to the fact your copied text may not be enough for some people. your copied text is similar to me coming to you with a story about how i took a picture of a cat on my way into work and i show you a hand drawn picture of a cat. sure, it looks like a cat, and you believe i saw a cat. but a hand drawn cat is not the same as taking a picture' which implies i used some sort of camera. its misleading and i can change details like the color of the cat, or how long its tail is.

can you see my point without getting all bent out of shape?

I was totally well meaning. I am a the latter category "comic reader" person too. You give me a manual filled with instruction in words and I will very likely toss it in the bin. One with pictures however, would be of much useful for me :)

Well.. you could easily do that with a picture also and some editing software... Gimp(free) and Photoshop would be enough, and the font that the game uses (easy to get your hands on).
 
Well I'm not sure what to think about the whole conversation, but I love the idea of a wild west server, haha
 
just cause of the fact that it was copied, no i dont believe it :)

regardless of if this was true or not, i wont install this fcking game all over again

if they scan processes, and thats what they do, then this bot is done and any bot

with that if they feel like it. so why on earth reinstall the game.

i DID reinstall the game when i came back, i DID NOT bot on that account. I was back
for a few weeks and got the hammer just as hard as anyone else.

Even on a frozen account, the hammer struck. O did i mention.... i just recently wiped my
whole HD and installed win8.1 instead of the old win 7 i had.

So traces and all that, i call it bs.
 
This is dumb, the GM just doesn't know how the bot works and he thinks the bot is "installed" into the main folder of wow which isn't the case.
But this is why he is suggesting to reinstall WoW.
As we all know you don't need to reinstall WoW to remove HB. So just don't do it.
 
while i agree a CS GM might not know what a blizz developer knows. i think they have a very limited knowledge OR they are limited on what they can say on chat.

while i doubt the op was able to get a GM to actually contact him when there are soooooo many reporting generic responses shooting down their pleas for leniency.

i am secretly hopeful that the OP is telling the truth because any insight into the inner workings of blizz is welcome. i want the OP to bring convincing evidence to support his claim so that others may rally around him and build group morale.

we need to stick together in this fight against boredom, this fighting amongst ourselves does no good.

what i take from this thread is this: the gm mentioned reinstalling wow, so that suggests there is something there that may be an identifying factor. or there is a logfile or something similar that is created and in the folder itself.

coming to the forums with very good evidence shuts down the tinfoil hat crusaders. and THAT is a GOOD thing.

@gameforreal tell your nigerian uncle to stop calling me. id feel bad for taking half of his inheritance for the low cost of me paying the shipping fees so he can ship the cash, rather than make a wire transfer.

he says he would rather give me half his money instead of paying it to the govt for taxes.

All other was trolling garbage.

Yes, we are already aware (or at least some of us) that the WOW installation folder do keep a certain identifying mark, which is used by Blizzard to "pair" every wow account, logged with this installation with all other wow accounts, logged there anytime in the past. And of course, this information should be kept on the server.

And since certain accounts get these 6 months suspensions, their wow installation is known too, and it is definitely flagged as "using bot or suspicious activity, etc" on the server, which would help a lot on the GMs, while reviewing the next Appeal, coming from any of the accounts, this wow installation is paired with.

So, with reinstalling WoW, you should clear your machine, at least off this flag!

About the registries, Blizzard actively write and read there, so the GM was not really honest, but he is not required to.
