GM actively looking for bots - Screenshot

Hi everyone,

I'm new here and just started, but maybe some of you might find this interesting;

Today a GM openly asked people to tell him where to find bots. This somewhat indicates they currently have no real way of listing all people currently botting, or at least only want to ban those who get in the way of other players.

If you're boting AFK all day then yes, you'll be caught. If you boting smart you won't be. I believe that bot should be a help to save your time and not a money making tool. I have been banned only once cos of my greed, but now I am boting only when I am near PC working with other stuff so I can monitor all process too.

monitoring your char not really going to help you, don't waste your time

they can ban you anyway

GMs do these shows non stop, cycling through servers. It's just a show so people see a GM execute a few dozen obvious bots that were most likely already caught by player reports or some basic heuristics. If the GMs were actually trying to hunt down bots, they wouldn't announce themselves to the entire server

Ohh dude, it does. definitely if you are boting with questing or traderuns with public routes you have signed death sentence. Just go and report all those future gold spammers with brown horses following in liliuth hills. Extra LP. I been scanning, grabbing, farming (now I farm few thousand of flowers in open world) since the game started...no ban. However I got banned on my alt who was low lvl and made few mistakes to attract attention.

I am boting more than 5 years now in different games and that was my first ban cos of my stupidity.

You could probably make a plugin which looks for this GM messages and logs the bot off either soon after or simply stops the bot in it's place and afk's out.

This has been going on for about 2 weeks now. Don't do 24/7 botting and you'll be fine. Also don't use public pathing.

You know GMs log into the world and watch people? Hell I've danced with one. I'm sure it's not a problem to go invisible for them. (Most just disconnect the bots but some kill them which is funny to see.)

i had the radar running if there was any GM's i would see them on radar

but when i got ban there was no any gm around

Radar would not detect a GM that is "incognito". Most likely they have a special version of "stealth" that transmits no information to clients whatsoever.

when i was playing RU version with a built in radar i saw a GM and he was shown red as "enemy"

They can change this system easly. And maybe server wont send now anything about "GM" when he in invis mode

So you've been acting like a bot. I am farming hundreds of wheat/ducks/grapevines a day...I have been using scanner/land grab but just sometimes and once a week per location, I have been running trade bot with custom way... I got rid of trade bot and grabbing, still farming in full power, but always keep an eye on it. If you leave it 24/7 doing same stuff ofc u attract attention.

I know many won't agree but my opinion about radars and grinding bots is absolutely nagetive, you can bot, but still be respectful to others. Farming bot can just save your patience working with all the duck feeding etc...but using bot to gain much bigger advantage than others is just...

Also who said they have to be logged into a character at all? It wouldn't make sense for a GM that is in the world watching people to use normal stealth. Did you check if someone reported you? Were you in a normal spot that get bots banned? There are a lot of variables when it comes to being banned. I don't get banned because I used botting for small things. Don't expect to start the leveling bot and expect it to still be botting 12-24 hours later. (depends when and where you started it of course)

best example is land grabbing plugin. If just people would use it for their need, one-two lands is absolutely enough, no one would even be worried about it. But greed drives everyone...you see good money making tool and you farm, drain it until it brings the power of hate against us all. Once you share something yours you give it to everyone. I have always said that boting forum has to be closed from public, yes Trion can get in it buy buying key, others can too...but there would be much less of them. Some plugins like land grabber should be only approved by Out in store, not just wasted everywhere. You may want to do something good to others and share you code, but others will give it away and you're screwed. Why there is a huge hate by players? just cos of land hack...no one cares about farmers, trade runs etc, but land...you gave it away, you put hammer on yourself.

Fyi there was already a land grabber before archebuddy released one via packet injection.
