im also along time glider user 2 years so dont say u wont go back all people wil use HB and glider when glider comes back maybe HB does better but when glider comes back they wil make nice features

Let's be honest, we would all rather see a better, more stable HB, than to start using Glider again.

I would be using whats best for me.. I dont care about what it will be called, if it is called HB, GB, Glider, ebot, mimic or what ever
Is it working good free from bugs, safe and easy to use thats the bot that I will use..
I got life time here so sure I will use Gb/hb and Yes I will try glider if it makes me a happy guy I will use that..

And I think pretty much everyone will end up using whats best and safest..
Im glad that glider is coming back competition is allways good it will force the oponents to make a safer less buggy bot so in the end evryone will be happy

If glider comes back, I never used it. But I'll most certainly be buying it, and going to learn to code stuff for it instead. Being here isn't fun anymore.

I really like the attitude of the glider devs, they also seem to have an eye for perfection. If they come back I will also buy it.

Glider was the shit, and when it comes back online it'll be the shit again.

Bossland was one of Glider's biggest customers, he knows this.

Well, that's what it's all about. And I doubt anyone will be banned for expressing his opinion here - that would just drive even more people towards glider.

I don't know neither Merc nor Bossland but from a passive point of view, Merc always seemed a bit more professional. Not that Bossland or HB/GB suck, it was just this feeling, that Bossland was some kid that coded for fun and tried to make a bot right around the time when Glide got axed. There was a need for a new bot and Bossland had the luck / made the right choices and ended up having the #1 product. Now that's all great and HB/GB came a long way since then, but there still was no time when the both bots really competed. And now those of us who know both sides, just make assumptions who might "win". Maybe I'm wrong, maybe Bossland is way more professional then I think and maybe the reason why HB sucks in so many ways isn't him but the current WoW - then Glider will have the same problems, and HB/GB will win because they already have an established costumer base.

Also another thing that might change the outcome:
HB/GB wouldn't be the #1 bot around, if it wasn't for the strong supporting developer base (meaning all that develop in some way besides Bossland himself, even Hawker I guess?). As many of those were allready big during Glider times, those may change the outcome. Imagine them wondering off to Merc - guess it's time for some soft-soaping @Bossland... ^^

as far as i know, bossland doesn't code.

Would gladly pay a straight up monthly fee than this bs Bossland is trying to pull with paid plugins and lifetime HB/GB...
you had paid plugins with glider too. there wasnt a lot, but you still had to buy reloggers and addons to do pvp.

yes, but you had to pay monthly for glider elite, so $5 times a year or two, and it adds up pretty quick.

Yeah, but that passively acted as a pressuring agent for the costumer - HB/GB doesn't have that (yet), so we have to live with what we get.
On the other hand, it also generated a steady income even from hardcore users. Imagine everyone getting buddy lifetime - sure it would be alot of money, but nothing after that, all the developers would be working for free from that point on. It's kinda the same as with WoW itself - I rather have a game that costs me a monthly fee and I get steady updates and a stable product, then buying one of those other mmos which die after the initial earnings are spent. Ok, it's not completely the same in this case, but I think you get my point.

HB/GB:

"$$$$$ first we'll fix the bugs and everything later"

Glider:

"let's work to make this product the best that we can"

and of course, if the product is good the money will come on its own.

its not like that, the bot is so closely tied into wow, unlike glider where it was mostly passive, like when cataclysm came out the bot for the most part had to be completely re-written to work with the new systems in wow, unlike priox where they only had to locate a few offsets and they where good to go. bugs happen, they try to release the best possible version they can, and try and release versions frequently to address more and more issues. theres no question our devs put more work into this bot per update, then any other bot in the market, so no, it isnt about the money, if you didnt like the bot, you have a 30 days to get your money back no questions asked. the devs are doing the best they can, and there's more then just money.

But isn't that a bad property of something that tries to control a third party program that doesn't want to be controlled? I don't wanna bitch around, but if I put myself into the situation, I'd rather take the most adaptable solution, a) to keep the costs down and b) to be faster with updates and thus satisfy my costumer base. I mean generally speaking, not only regarding HB/GB.

If CodenameG is right, they need to do much less work to get glider running again then HB/GB would in the same situation. It also means, that the changes in WoW since they got axed won't affect then as much as some speculate.
