Getting Started/Journey so Far

So after 2 months of botting I wanted to share my experience thus far including things I have done, suggestions, and a couple questions. If you don't like the wall of text - skip to the bottom for a summary.

I decided that I wanted to avoid "optimal" botting and instead go a more "secure" route to avoid detection and banning. So far *knock on wood* I have been successful. I leveled my bot character by hand, mainly because I find questing and speed running much faster than any leveling profile I found and studied; also, as an added bonus, this method provides much more security as far as avoiding a ban in my mind - as most leveling profiles are very easy to spot.

Having my character leveled I had to choose between gold farming and champion farming, I chose champion farming. This was my choice because I have tried gold farming before, and it is so damn boring I can not imagine anyone in their right mind doing it for hours on end; however, I have personally sat and champion farmed by hand for hours on end without even realizing how much time had gone by. So again this added a more human element to the bot in my mind.

I chose to bot for no more than 8-10 hours a day, occaisionally skipping a day or two, not doing it at the exact same time every day. Again emulating a more human behaviour. Also I like to interrupt the bot a few times during runs, exiting after item ID to browse the AH and relist or list items - especially if I spot an item I would be excited about being ID'd and want to list ASAP.

SUMMARY:
-I run 1 bot, I have a main account that I don't bot on and use for personal use.
-I use a ***, I reside in one country and my bot "resides" in another.
-I run my bot (on average) 7-10 hrs/day, 4-6 days/week.
-I interrupt my bot once in awhile to peruse the AH and list/relist items
-I leveled my bot by hand, I find it faster and safer (1-60 in about 8 hrs)
-I have 100+ million gold at the moment, I have spent about 30 million on gear.
-I can easily farm act 2, and more or less farm act 3
-Ciggarc is the bomb diggity. They can expect a generous donation when I have gone out of the red and into the green as far as profit versus investment thus far.

My only real concern right now is selling my gold. I set up a seperate paypal account, use a seperate e-mail, and I am not object to ordering an authenticator, I have a smart phone and can get the free authenticator, but I already use my phone for my main account and have a funny feeling this could throw up flags, im not even sure if you CAN put two authenticators on one phone. My name on my paypal and d3 account match (but are fake), I can't register for use of the AH without a second credit card though. You must give them a credit card number and can't use one that is already in use. I have given thought to getting a second credit card, and am considering it. But before I go that route I would like to trade some of my main accounts items for gold through a trade window. And when I do get the gold in a spot where I can sell it, I plan on selling it in chunks of about 20 million as I have a funny feeling they flag larger transactions (like 50 million plus or so) and look into them. Any and all suggestions for the final step up cashing out would be greatly appreciated.

Also, for those interested on how to level so fast (I think it's pretty fast but haven't looked into what people consider average), ask and ye shall receive.

Not a bad read, however if I may just point some things out:

1) Going for "secure" botting is not really improving your chances at not being flagged. If you look in the bans section there are 2 things you will notice. One is that the amount of bans posted are very minimal (perhaps 1 new thread a day) compared to the 10000+ botting accounts I assume are running, and secondly all of them were botting more than 1 account on the same PC.

2) Being safe and/or not doesn't change a thing, people can be banned within an hour of botting, or bot 24/7 and never be banned, it's completely random. I suggest that you rethink how often you bot, you have taken the risk already, and to make a better return why not bot for 24/7 for a month instead of 8 hours a day for 3 months? This is assuming you get banned.

3) 1-60 in 8 hours is impressive, I'd appreciate if you could pm me the method

4) As for selling gold, the best option is to skip the RMAH all together and sell to goldsellers and/or private buyers. Getting the money into your paypal account loses you 30% of the total selling price (15% Blizfagfee, 15% Blizpaypalfee). You can make more money, and get your money faster doing it without using the RMAH. This also protects you from possible flags if they exist for selling 'large amounts' of gold (But I assure you that 100m is not a large amount whatsoever lol)

Anyway, I'm not ranting at you or anything, just some suggestions/opinions

I do notice that most people who are banned have more than one account running, I'm not really "greedy" I guess and just want a small return, so one account is more than enough for me. There is a thread devoted to people running only 1 account and being banned, and there are several people who were banned with using only 1 account. On the note of bans, I have noticed in my limited reading that the vast majority of people being banned bot for exessive lengths of time (though some don't it seems the majority of bans lean towards this behaviour). Me personaly, I would rather take a smaller return over a longer time than have to set up a new account every month and bot 24/7 with a greater return. So part of it is personal preference. Although, I don't think it's unreasonable to assume they flag accounts based on these things:
-Ungodly uptime
-Repeatedly doing the exact same thing over, and over (sarkoth runs for example)
-Reaching or nearing game creation limits
-Extremely large sales, or vast quantity of sales

All of these things would be extremely easy to "flag" an account with where they would then do a quick follow up investigation, maybe ghost your game. So I don't think it's fair to say that not doing these activities wont reduce the risk of being banned.

Avoiding the RMAH would be pleasant as far as gold sales go, but there is no way to guarantee the buyer wont just reverse the transaction through paypal? :/ so taking a hit on the fees seems reasonable as opposed to losing out altogether sometimes. I have no idea where I would even start to look for someone to buy my gold aside from trading it on the RMAH.

I'll start a write up on my leveling plan - as a quick note I do skip portions of the game altogether which shaves off hours.

If you're really keen on selling your gold outside the RMAH, there are plenty safe of venues to approach. Either contact popular gold selling websites about selling your gold to them, or find resellers (most of them are not chinese) on forums that would give you a nice rate for your gold.

Fair enough, I guess in the end it is just your own opinion eh I've been botting for years and always botted 24/7. Not a single ban yet

As for not using RMAH, if you sell to the goldselling sites (there are many that will buy from you legitimately) then that's fine, if you're looking for private sellers then forums are the best places, and then there is usually a sort of 'Trusted' tag or something along those lines that certain users have. Obviously there are risks doing it this way, but you will get a bigger margin on sales in comparison to RMAH or goldsites.
