Get rid of BGbuddy?

I've just recently come back from my 6 month ban, and one of my friends just got banned again today. However, he was kind of a dumba$$, and used bgbuddy to farm honor afk.

That said, I haven't used honorbuddy for anything afk since my ban. I only PvE with honorbuddy CRs, and I never PvP with it. I have a feeling that a lot of these bans are coming from people getting reported as bots in PvP. There are a lot more people that take PvP so seriously that seeing a bot in even a random BG is enough to cause multiple reports on someone. This in and of itself brings a lot more attention to honorbuddy than is necessary. I think perhaps it's time to take BGbuddy out of honorbuddy.

This isn't saying that honorbuddy will no longer work in BGs and arenas - but maybe we should consider restricting PvP activities to manual use only with Enyo. I'm like the rest of you, I hate the mind numbing repetitive nature of wow rotations. They're much better done by a bot. However, with the amount of people reporting others for botting, it seems to me that it makes sense to remove a feature that is literally causing bans - afk PvP botting.

I know I'll probably get flamed for this, but for me, the less scrutiny on my botting activities the better. If getting rid of a feature helps keeps honorbuddy in business, I'd be all for it.
 
Maybe people should take responsibility for their own actions. I don't see why a few people who get banned warrant the removal of a feature. It is your choice to use it. Take responsibility.

But that's not my point. It's causing a ton of undue scrutiny on bots. Like someone said before - hardly anyone cares about fishing or questing bots, but when your bot runs the same route in PvP BGs 24/7 and it hurts the team of people they're playing with, it typically gets reported. People go to the forums to complain. Blizzard feels pressure to do something. Banwave happens.

All I'm saying is perhaps getting rid of something that causes so much controversy and scrutiny should be looked at. Maybe "manual" play with Enyo and CRs in PvP is a smarter way to protect the entire community.
 
People can use it responsibly and not get banned. I see no reason why to remove it to stop people from botting it 24/7. Pvping with Enyo isnt going to help my green/heirloom priest from being destroyed every 2minutes. So use the bot and do something else for a couple of hours. botting fishing/farming affects other players by affecting the economy. Maybe people should just manually farm/fish.. or maybe people who get caught farming/pvping 24/7 should just get banned for not being responsible in their botting habbits.
 
i fully equip every of my toones via bgbuddy i really like it (dont know if im lucky but 0 bans so far)

I would have to disagree. If a feature like BGbuddy is the cause of massive amounts of player reports, Blizzard will likely take action to calm the herd. BGbuddy more than likely played a major role in the 5/13 banwave, most evident from youtube videos and forum posts from disgruntled players. I would have to agree it is in our best interest that BGbuddy be disabled until updated, to quiet the storm.

My point being. The more players complain, the more attention Blizzard will give to us as a whole.

A lot of your ban issues are coming from people using basic CR's and not getting BGFarmer. If you get banned because your lazy and cheap then its only what you ask for. If you sit afk for 2 days straight farming with singular your going to get blasted. Someone will report your pathing and gameplay. Time and time again people miss the point of what they should or should not do. Been here long enough to see that. Been banned plenty times from farming but BGs never get me in trouble.

Unfortunately the buddystore, as expected, has bred greed. Most of the premium CRs & BGbases/plugins used to have a free "good enough" option. Now it's just worthless bottom of the barrel basic CRs and overpriced "I'm a l33t programmer gimme money" CRs.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Honorbuddy shouldn't cost even half what it does anymore because nothing worthwhile, or at all safe, is free anymore. Hell most of the almost mandatory plugins cost more than Honorbuddy does.
 
Every bot farmer ive ever used has be decked in full Honor gear. Even now every toon i have is in 700 honor gear and ive never had an issue. BGbuddy is set up to do things move to the biggest fight and so forth so its not going to always follow the same action. yeah it occasionally runs in a circle but i mean ill do that myself.

If you go into the BG and have a Hunter or a Mage with a flawless CR and are unstoppable then yes you'll get banned. Just using Singular your not even likely to be noticed by anyone as you sit in the middle of the charts. Well, unless you're a healer, Singular heals are alright once you are geared.

Never had an issue. everyone says its got a high ban rate but really if you break it down its not that high. Gatherbuddy is far more dangerous, and i myself have caught a ban or two farming. But BG's never an issue.

Disagree completly, I think the prices are not high enough, I would rather see a jack in prices than see the use of these bots become even more widespread, it's not safe because it's being used by people who will throw away and make new accounts no problem, as soon as it's no longer worth the money to bot some arenas or make as much gold as you can for fun, the whole use of the bot will become safer.

Hmmm... I was hit with a 72h suspension literally 20min after starting using Mill'z BGFarmer, with the same settings I used in the past to equip all my toons without problems, and using Tuanha's CR (as I have been using since it was released). No problems before, suspended in 20 minutes now. I was even using my healer spec, which usually never gets noticed in BGs (and even if they notice, would you report your own healer?!). I'm not saying there's any detection whatsoever, but I'm pretty sure they do care a little bit now about botting in PvP, thus keeping a low profile is as difficult as ever.

Anyway, if you read the forums, the big complains aren't about the bots 'per se' (the AFK botbases) but more about the instant interrupts, or the insta-DoTs that some software provide. Not sure if removing the botbase will help a lot, but surely being clever with your CRs will, of course.

Right click your portrait straight to report by an angry kid or someone bored happens now and then. Shit happens but doing things to prevent people from doing that is the best steps you can take.
 
Everyone who says that bgbot isnt the cause for the focused bann's are really uneducated. Compare the amount of bg farmers that are banned tot he ones who just bot pve or profession botting. When i farm bg's i loose my accounts almost every time. And dont be fooled you also get reported by other greedy botters who are plain and simple dumb. But yes ive looked into this and posted before that bgbot is a bad idea and have bad pathing so its the same thing over and over. And yes blizz is fully aware of all the pvpers that complain about the botters but yet you all still insst on using it and loosing more accounts and bringing more attn. to us all as a hole. I vote to have it removed permantly until different pathing options are created to mix things up.

How about you create your own botbase or purchase an available PVP bot base? The attention to HB has been ongoing for years. People are found running into walls, flooding auction houses, farming instances, running dungeon buddy. Just because people get banned using it doesn't mean we should all suffer.
 
yes BGBUDDY is a fail profile ... and its make u 200% ban in bg and now blizzard focusing them on bgs and u will get insta ban inside the bg.... so yes they should fix the behavior or remove bgbuddy
