Is there an impact on Nodes per Hour when you have low fps?

Theoretically, there shouldn't be, right? Since what we see on screen while botting is just a visual representation of the code of HB and WOW interacting.

Do multi-botters throttle their bot-client FPS to have the CPU run more of them?

i have the bot arround the 15-20fps
when i do an lower FPS I will se that wow doesn't run smooth and I have nothis that there are some problem with walking then
but how smaller the screen is how lower you can set the FPS

I'm thinking of running my bots 800x600 @ 10-15fps, and wondering about the impact it can have on nodes per hour, since I have no idea how frame locking works, and how is it relevant when bots are not in combat.

Just tried it out on two identical characters running two identical profiles on different realms, one with minimum 24fps and one with minimum 8fps. in 40mins 24fpser gathered 100 nodes, 8fpser gathered 76 nodes. But then again it might be just realm farmer differences... Still pretty significant difference.

let them run 24 hours, then compare the nph - if they still differ 100 to 76, 8fps is a loss for you.

for me it absolutely no difference, i'm running all my profiles with 120+ / h - on 8fps.

did you do such 24h comparison?

no but how can 100% proof it, it all depends an your lcuk and times died etc.
and why should it make an diference ??
I've read on these forums that the way honorbuddy operates is by framelocking and injecting between frames, and lack of sufficient flow of the medium should result in impaired operation.

Hi, HipDrahve,

This high-level understanding is correct. However, FPS shouldn't affect much unless many decisions need to be made quickly--such as when you are in combat. If the bulk of your time is spent traveling between nodes, not many decisions are required. Of course, this assumes that a Plugin author hasn't gotten sloppy, and is increasing the needed FPS.

What percentage of the nodes you harvest do you believe require the clearng of mobs first? I'd look into that, and maybe disabling all plugins as possible solutions.

cheers,

Most of the nodes that my bots gather are clear of mobs. However, in Pandaria especially, it's painful to watch a bot try to land next to a herb which is next to a tree - even more so at 8 FPS. Visually, 24fps just looks more smooth, but that just might be it, visual - I do not have exact facts of how 8 vs 20+ FPS compares while gathering. Hence the thread. I would love to hear the opinions of devs and multi-botters :)

Hi again, HipDrahve,

You are correct about the trees. Delicate navigation--especially in Flightor--requires a lot of decisions to be made quickly. Many raycasts are occurirng to determine which ways are 'open', and which direction should be pursued.

Indeed, in clearing itself from a tree, the difference between 8 and 24-40 fps can be significant. Its not just a visual effect, the bot is not getting the 'horsepower' it needs to make decisions in a timely fashion.

If the FPS is limited by the config.wtf, is the lack of "horsepower" the same as if it would be induced by client being resource-starved? Set limits vs Actual system lag.
