Yeah, GB ignores things in the water if I'm not mistaken. I think it has something to do with mechanics or programming or something. I'm not 100% clear on why though. One of the devs would have to answer that. I just know that on any GB profile I've ever used anything that was in the water has always been ignored and then blacklisted in badnodes.

I watch the bot work sometimes, and not wow, so when things are put in the informational window on the bot I see them. I've seen nodes that appear grey on my minimap and then watch GB list them in badnodes.

I'm only speculating though, because I could be completely wrong about it all.

Gatherbuddy is able to gather other stuff which is underwater too (such as cobalt/saronite ore), but it seems that stranglekelp is sort of "blacklisted".

In my time using GB I've never gone into the water to gather a node of anything. i was basing my response off of my own personal experience. That's why I said maybe the devs could give a better answer. :)

Gatherbuddy is able to go underwater to collect nodes. It just struggles to get back on its feet again (Issues Mounting Up-Altho It Gets there). That's a good spot for them to work on.

I'v never tried farming what he has. I farm Sholazar Basin and it works fine.
Let's just let a dev fix this issue. Unless someone can find a reason not to.

some herbs are hardcore blacklisted on Gb engine

*facepalm!* if you would care to read the forum you would know why GB don't herb underwater or HB use flying mounts so to lay it out shortly without getting into a wall of test HB don't use flying mounts because it fakes the Z axis (cant remember if its Z never was any good at math) GB don't herb under water as it will get stuck because it cant mount a flying mount in the water and there by would just sit around until you would DC so please shut the hell up with your ''Please fix it''

There's no need to be arrogant, especially because you're stating useless and uncorrect things.
I was farming in STRANGLETHON VALE, so using a GROUND MOUNT which works perfecly fine EVEN UNDERWATER (if you don't believe me, try it out by youself).

We now have the possibility to mount up on our horses even underwater(i believe since patch 3.1), i think there's no need to blacklist the "stranglekelp" anymore (it's just GREAT to level up your herbalism/inscription/alchemy and it's practically everywhere).

I hope that one of the devs can fix it :)

Agreed you can now mount on your flying mount soon as your on the surface of the water. I'm not sure about ground mounts. But due to wows changes GB should adapt and change with wow and take advantage of what wow has done for us.

I even noticed that devs have disabled the "underwater node" checking, my toon now mines even at the bottom of a lake in sholazar basin (it takes some attemps to get back on its flying mount) :)

Shameless selfbump, i'd really like to gather stranglekelp :(

Well I prefer to use honorbuddy* do to like everything now. Give it a crap profile with hotspots everywhere but don't let it kill everything. I assure it will get herbs :P.

ahhahah :D
seriously, i think that gathering underwater herbs could improve a lot the gathered herbs/hour ratio.

Since you can mount in water now i think it would be a good idea to make gb swim into water and swim up to surface again after harvest and then mount. Hawker, it can be done right?

hmm trying to make a stranglekelp profile as its pretty needed for a few potions and its prob the worse herb I can think of to do by hand.. Can this even be done?

Bump! Requesting stranglekelp to be put out of blacklist. I think HB has gone pretty far from the times this thread was created and is capable of underwater farming. Please! We need stranglekelp NAO! :)
