Garrisons, Everything is about money now?

I haven't used the bot in a long while, is everything pay to play now ?

Is there a garrison bot out there that doesn't cost money?

What happened here?

All good just do the garrisons by hand for free. Problem solved, if you have any further questions happy to help out :)
 
Sadly the wow botting scene is moving away from free user developed content. Since the honorbuddy store is active the hb devs encourage users to put their plugins/profiles/etc on there since they get a cut I assume.

On one hand it is understandable since people deserve to be paid for their work. On the other hand it sucks dick that you basically have to pay massive amounts of money to be able to do everything hb is capable of.
 
I'm pretty sure someone made a garrison bot for free unless it's just the beta I'm using. It actually stopped working for me and crashes now not sure why, but there are still other users who have posted garrison profiles that take care of everything that garrisonbuddy does except the first quest and the follower missions.
 
What needs to happen as a community we have to speak out and say to HB please only allow limited amount of Paid Profiles and Buddy store materials to be approved that rely is worth the money! What i find is that a few of the paid items like Tuah routines and a few other paid items are rely worth the money they charge others don't rely work and would never be sold in a shop cause its made by people that don't know 100% what they are doing and rely on community help to get the bot base working once they do they start selling it! Please make sure you have a product that works well before charging people for it, when you have a hobby its very rare people make money out of that!
 
Please stop complaining, nobody promised you anything, you paid for bot for what it was back then. The amount of upgrades and improvements bot received is mind blowing. Wow players are such a crybabies, complains just about every single thing in game and now infecting HB forums. Kudos to every single person who takes his/her own time to sit down and do something.

You mean all the things the HB team broke in the latest version that still isnt fixed? The same things that ran great before this previous version? Mind blowing indeed.

Maybe you shouldn't be spending your money on HB if you think paying 20-30€ on a Bot/CR is a massive amount of money.

its not 20-30... its much more than that if you enjoy several of the profiles here.....what profile are you using that cost 20-30 that does everything you want it to?

pay for the game, pay for the bot... pay for the profiles.... i'm all for paying the developers and what not dont get me wrong these guys bust their ass off and are talented as fuck but i'm not down with paying a premium price for something that could be taken away just as quickly... than your just out the dough....which is why donations was a nice way.... wish there was a better way to pay the developers other than sucking it up and buying everything that matches what you want it to do ahahaha

You pay 15$/12€ a month to bli$$ for playing their shitty game, what's up with 10€ that contributes to the happiness of a dev that spent several dozens of hours to make it work and solve issues you reported? It's xmas/nye period be gentle. When you go to walmart you don't expect the store to give you everything for free to live. It's pretty much the same. Be efficient, make profit, enjoy the highest tier profiles/plugins/bots !

EDIT: you also pay for that "streaming content" feature, which is terribly good, no more SVN bullshit, always up-to-date content, no more issues with repos !

Ok here is the point folks. This topic is coming up from time to time. People complain about the need to pay for stuff now in the store while in the past most things were for free.
They are wrong. I see tons of profiles and stuff still being released for free and most of the bigger products were paid products even before the store but spread all over the net on the devs own webpages.
The store is as addon meaning you CAN buy stuff there but no one forces you to do so. It guarantees updates and checked quality products.
Please also do not forget that small projects started by a dev became a huge support issue after growing for months so it is totally ok if the dev now wants to have something for it.
In the past a lot of devs did this asking for donations but the amount of people who donated was really really low so the actual situation is also some kind of reaction of the behaviour of the community.
Personally I do not have any problems paying for a product on the store if it is good and saves me time.
If you don't want, don't buy anything, otherwise have fun with the store but please stop whining.

@wtfmofo: If things are broken, report them in the support section with a logfile attached and they will be fixed!

On top of all that I have to support my product for 18 months or expac. So I am getting 35% of what I charge for all of that work that I do. Had I not had most of the work I am currently releasing already done, I would have probably walked. I have no plans to develop anything after I release the last of my work as it isn't worth the loss in cash. What you will get once I leave, is that the devs will have all of my code to integrate into their own bot. So you will see a bonus from that eventually. It will how ever cost you one of the more active long term devs that HB has had.

That sounds logical and it is indeed but again how many profiles do you enjoy? How many plugins? Etc etc....Also how many are you running with? Like I said I'm not arguing the legitimacy of whether the the developers are worthy of a profit that would be absolutely ridiculous to even consider they're not because they are some of the most talented individuals I've seen and their ability to not only stay on task but also address the issues from potentially 10 of 100s is extremely impressive.... But I don't think even the average price for these profiles are in that range and to be honest as far as premium product goes I haven't seen to many profiles actually run flawlessly....other than flying for herbs and ores....even the garrison profile had issues still running around in circles and getting hung up on things. Eventually I'm sure I'm going to break down and make a few purchases it would just be nice if there was a guarantee on how long the developer was actually going to commit to it. What happens after that? Does someone else take over? What if it was a favorite of mine does my one vote actually count? I'm just saying its a huge adjustment and to be perfectly clear I'm not arguing that they shouldn't get paid

Because I think they should just wish there was a better way. I mean hell I'd be willing to go month to month plan for the entire store to be free at least that let's the developer off the hook. I just really enjoy testing out and searching for new profiles to play with. See part of my thing is I'm not making a profit from this I'm actually giving everything away.... Been helping folks like this since I started Botting almost a year ago and I honestly find it very enjoyable.... I couldn't see myself setting up and managing 25 accounts let alone 5 to 10


Anyways.....to be fully clear I think the store is a good idea to help the development of more profiles

I figured it was something like this which is why I still wish there was a better way I truly do
 
Simple - don't be poor. If you're poor, please enjoy the base bots and profiles which are more than enough for Honorbuddy. If you want the more advanced features and what not, please spend some money on the devs who've put several hundereds of hours into creating the CR/BotBase which you want. Can't deal with this? Either stop being poor or deal with having basic functionality which you paid almost NOTHING for either way.

I still can't believe how cheap Honorbuddy is. It's amazing. Good job guys.

This, 99% of the stuff honorbuddy handles can be done for free, if you can't afford to pay for plugins/cr/profiles, then just do it the simple way.
 
Well, it takes time to develop applications, bot bases, routines etc. Do you not think that they developers time is worth your money? Well, if so then I'd say you should not be able to use that application, botbase or combat routine.
Developing something takes time, and the users expect bugs to get fixed.
If i were a developer in this community, I would like to get something back for my work and time spent.

Sharing for free is nice and all ofc, but the extra motivation that a profit gives should also give a better product to the end user ;)
