[PAID] GarrisonButler

Dude...

Seriously, I have supported you guys all the way, but now I'm getting really disgruntled. The bot is totally useless currently, since it can't select new missions, I'm getting exceptions thrown left and right. Getting stuck in mine, herb garden at random. Unable to complete work orders randomly. I've posted logs and whatnot.

And not a word from developers for over a week. This is not ok really.

Have you elevated these issues to bossland? Might be an issue worth pushing. I don't use this bot base anymore because of the lack of support by Deams, but I feel if enough people make complaints to bossland I feel he could be forced to support or refund customers.

I too am a little disgruntled by the support of Deams and this project. According to Trello his last update was June 6th. Also GB is not even on the HB Store anymore. Makes me feel a little uneasy investing so much money into the Ice edition.

At this rate I wish I could get a refund too :/

Where could I do that? I must honestly be blind since I can't find where to send him such stuff, other than PMing him directly.

Hi everyone,

The support hasn't ended but I admit that it is really slow these days.
I am now at 31 accounts banned in total, most of them now perma-banned, a few for 6 months. After using HB for so many years without even one ban, it feels weird. :D
For now I have one left... leveling it by hand. -_-
The banwave, the new store contract, GarrisonBuddy... many things happened in the last months.
If I wanna be completely honest with you, I begin to be discouraged.

I know that some of you proposed to help, so I decided to release the code of GarrisonButler under a GNU GPL license (check out the license terms before anything else).
You can now access it here: https://github.com/Deams51/GarrisonButler
If you are part of the lucky ones with still full 100 accounts online, feel free to test the latest code, ask for pull request, submit bugs...

Going back to killing mobs...

I appreciate the honesty. Admitting defeat and letting someone else take over is not to be taken lightly. Thanks for all your hard work and maybe you'll get motivated again in the future.

i see how you feel, i'm out of the store as well.
going back to do stuff for the community instead for the store

Just a status update for anyone coming back:

All previous issues still present (dancing around a work order pick up box, not doing anything etc)

New Issues
Missions don't work due to the new type of mission, gets hung up on a permanent cycle of trying to pick up a finished ship mission.
Mail box seems to not work if it calls the mail function closer to the new mailbox than the old one. It will force move to the one in front of the main garrison building but try to interact with the new one in this case.

Having constant problem with the bot (paid version).

- bot would stop randomly and do nothing
- bot won't start new orders (when enabled)

Options menu is SLOW AS SHIT.

According to the github he posted it's been more than a month since any files (outside the readme and license info) have been changed, looks to be specifically June 6th. I'd suggest moving on at this point, or taking it up with HB's support for the possibility of a refund.

Is this project still alive? It doesn't seem to do missions anymore and I would hope that the Shipyard would be supported or planned to be supported. I have the GarrisonButlerICE edition and it was a solid price when I bought it. Feels like it was only up a few short months before it went quiet.

If you bought this more then 2 weeks ago, doubt you will get any refund.

According to the Buddyforum wiki (could be out-dated or perhaps incorrect though) they are under contractual obligation to support it for 18 months after first publication or the next expansion.

How long are products offered in the Buddy Store supported?, or Will I have to rebuy a product at the next game client expansion?

This concept is called a product's End-of-Life (EOL). The current Developer agreement requires developers to support their products for whichever comes first:
  • 18 months after the product is first published, or
  • the next game client expansion
To clarify how the "first publication" clause works...Assume a product is made available, and you purchase the product 12 months later. The developer is only required to support that product for six months more. The "first publication" date is available in the product's change log.It is up to each developer as to how an EOL due to expansion is handled...The developer may just 'update' his product and "keep going" with the same product. Alternatively, the developer may shelve the old product, and introduce a new one. Since each expansion usually requires a complete rewrite of many products (Combat Routines in particular), the latter situation is very likely. Thus, you may be faced with re-buying the product when the game client expansion drops.

And

"What prevents a developer from 'taking my money and running'?"

The Buddy Store was put in place to prevent scams and protect users. Each developer must sign an agreement which involves a minimum support time of either 18 months, or until a new expansion.[SUP][2][/SUP]Developers have been personally verified by Bossland GmbH, and they sign a contract with six articles. You can be sure that we have the "paid product" situation controlled. For the free products, we now have a easy way to keep anything you run up to date, Honorbuddy streams the newest additions into it, when you launch it, so everything you have installed to help you, will be always up to date.Bossland GmbH takes the developer contract very seriously, and works with law firms in several countries. The developer agreement will be enforced when necessary. We also believe having many developers in a single store has additional benefits:
  • Users no longer have to scour the Internet looking for wares, and guessing at developer integrity.
  • Usage statistics should be more accurate when more customers are using the same site.
  • Testimonials and rating systems become more accurate with a single market.
  • Developers can concentrate on products, and not spend time on how to attract customers, payments, refunds, etc.
  • A larger (single) market helps a product get priced more 'fairly'.
Are the relevant entries. This seems to me that there should be some recourse on this matter.

While it is commendable that D took it off the store for purchase, this does nothing to help those of us who spent real money on a product that stopped working within 6 months, and that hasn't seen an update in over a month

I will keep an eye on this and will likely submit for a refund or at least store credit at this point
