"Garrison for gold " guide by Ged

OK i analyzed how to make max gold in garrison (mainly on doing gold missions) so we need:

1. Build the tavern/inn (lvl 3 is must) to recruit followers with the treasure hunter+scavenger traits.
2. Build salvage yard (lvl 3 is must) to get that extra cash from vendoring.
3. Build barracks (lvl 3 is must) for the extra 5 slots for more followers
4. Build warmill (lvl 2 is enough) to get upgrade tokens for your followers.
5. Build trading post (lvl 1 is enough) for buying proffesions materials with overplus of garrison resources.
6. Boost treasure hunter+scavenger followers from 90-100.
7. Do the treasure missions with your treasure hunter followers (and resources with scavenger).

Full cost of gold (plans+upgrading) = 16,5 k
Ok so disadvantages are: time to lvlup and gear up followers (best option to increase time of lvling is to hire harrison jones on all chars) and cost (when want to do it on 11 chars in 1 time).

Additional garrison tips and tricks for gold:

1. Build Gem Boutique (lvl 2) put a follower in it and make the daily quest - reward is 115-300g (so worth even if need to buy mats)
2. Build Herb Garden (lvl 2, place folower to gather frostweed - have best prize) and Frostwall Mines (gather everyday herbs and ores and use to proffesions or sell on AH).
3. Dont sell blue 100 lvl blue items from boxes in Salvage Yard (~3g vendor value) better option is to desenchant into 8-12 draenic dust (~2g / each on ah).

Jewelcrafting hut lvl 2. put a follower in it and make the daily. Dont know if theres a profil for that. Even if you buy the ore at ah its additional ~150 gold per day per toon. A follower with jewelcrafting can be unlocked in shadowmoon vally for alliance (konstrukteur romuul).
Harrison Jones is treasure hunter on his own, think its worth the time. Its a pain in the ass to lvl up followers, but ok, wont do it on 11 chars at once.

Wont do mining, herbing perhabs with a follower in it to gather frostweed. Has double price of the other herbs.

oh and I upgrade everything to lvl 3 cause with storage post lvl 3 its enough to renew the workorders twice a week.

how long to level your followers to 100 so they can actually take advantage of all gold missions?
how many weeks to recruit enough followers that actually have treasure hunter skills?
how many weeks to level each follower from 90-100 that you recruited from the Inn that have treasure hunting?

now, you want to multiply that times however many alts you want to run on that account. if you want to run alts that is. most botter do, since they've already invested in wod. but, remember, for each alt, you will have to level from 1-100 because you only get one boost.

how many weeks to earn the gold and resources to build the required buildings to level X?

how many weeks to gear all your followers to 660-675?

how much income do you expect to make the first week, second week, third week, fourth week....

how long will you have to have this one garrison before it actually produces a profit?

what happens if another 'garrison related ban' comes around and you lose all youve invested?

and that is just a start to the questions you have to answer before even considering making a 'garrison gold guide'

please dont think im targeting you, these are all legit questions.

now, for the final question for extra credit: how long will you have to bot until you recoup your initial investment of 50-70usd.? this is assuming you are living in the US. i hear the initial investment is cheaper if you plan on running on russian servers. remember to factor in a couple battlechests for gold mules, since you seriously wouldnt want to sell a single gold piece from you garrison account.

why? it takes 10 minutes per day, and all alts do it in the same time. no reason for multiplying.

11 alts/server leveled from 90-100 = 100k in profit already (assume you had this 90's already. otherwise it will be about 200k profit.
leveltime/alt with heirlooms 3-4 days to 1-100 (don't know about kicks profiles. i use my own)
so in 1 month you have 200k/account

11 alts in the first day 100
income per alt:
2 30g gold missions = 60g (double it, if you have treasure finder)
about 20 gold thrue scrapyard building
thats all while leveling the alts

with all 11 alts about 1k/day 1 hour investment (done every day 1 hour and you have wow for free already the 3rd month)
and thats very basic buildings only. no tavern, no herb garden, no mine, no fishing, no nothing.

so, yes. there is money in it. but thats not suitable for 24/7 bann bots.

because garrisons are not account wide. that is why you multiply all that times how every many alts you want to run.

who would be foolish enough to start this project with an account they already had that many 90's on. besides, if you are truly going to count , you need to count from lvl 1 for all the alts after the first.

so in 1 month you have 200k/account

or you could run dungeons for 300k per month.

no, no there isnt. you have a very skewed definition of 'money'

so, what you are saying. if i do all of that on my 11 alts, i can afford to play for free by month 3. but i can buy a wow token every other day with a 8usd battlechest and i have to put nearly 0 effort into leveling and absolutely 0 effort when i hit 90. AND i have all the free time to play my main account all day.

not to be snobby but that doesnt sound very profitable at all.

time to invest to level a follower to lvl 100 is maybe 10 minutes interacting. that you have to multiply. right.
but you dont need to multiply alt 1 needs 4 days to level all folowers to 100, alt 2 needs 4 days,...

I am very interested in this guide since I am upgrading my garrisons on 6 alts on my main's account.

Totally not a joke ... just put the right timers and you usually don't get banned, I get 10k per day farming three times 3 hours.

I'm running one account with 11 characters (I've posted about this before).

Frosticus does have some very good points, but this is working for me - because that's enough for me (may not be for other people).

- It takes a long time to upgrade all followers to 660-675. MONTHS probably. On the other hand, it's not needed to successfully complete the gold missions (I think 630-645 is enough). I did notice that the characters I got to 100 first have better geared followers - which confirms that it's a matter of time.
- Inn/Tavern level 3 is a must. You'd be missing all these missions without it: Treasure - Garrison Missions - World of Warcraft. The 100-150 ones are really nice when you stack 2-3 followers.
- It'll take 5-7 days to level newly recruited treasure hunter to 100 logging in twice a day. It'll take 1 day with Harrison Jones. He is the REAL Legendary Follower. I have him on all 11 characters.
- With 12-13 Treasure Hunters on each character I can cover 95% of the missions with a full Treasure Hunter team.

I haven't rerolled any Treasure Hunters abilities to avoid some repeats, yet. I plan to start doing it (or maybe start disabling Treasure Hunters for new ones with different set of abilities). Resource-wise, it's more logical to just disable the repeated ones and just recruit a new follower.

Tuesday is the most intensive day, since I'm recruiting the new Treasure Hunter - IT TAKES TIME to do it on 11 characters.

Current income from MISSIONS ONLY: anywhere between 13k to 20k. Depends on the day.

Using GarrisonButler with ONLY missions enabled is a breeze and takes around 15 minutes to run all 11 characters. I'm not doing this, though, because...
I can do it manually in 10 minutes (with Master Plan). I'm doing it twice a day (morning and late night before going to sleep).

I run a third time when I get home from work(which in order is the middle one... manual-bot-manual): I run GarrisonButler fully on all my characters (mines+garden+professions+work orders+missions+salvage+mailing). This is not required at this point... but I just hate to see all these resources wasted... So, yeah... when you finally have all this set up and running, you could just ditch your botting days and still make 15k a day in average for 20-30 minutes of your daily time.

The problem figuring out what is reasonable income on a bot account is faar from what is reasonable on a played account.

The problem is the amount of time you need until you start earning a good deal of gold.

Lets just go through it.
You need 5-10 lvl 100 characters to get a good farm on that account, thats:

Leveling 1-15 on 5-10 characters.
Dungeonbuddy to 90.
Doing kicks from 90-100 to get the zone followers
Doing the easy follower quests/pickups for the rest.
You're now at 20-22 followers and level 100. Awesome.

Now its a waiting game or farm game. But remember, each farm you do increases risk of ban.

So give it 3 weeks your followers are now epic and you got 3 extra followers from Inn with scavenging or treasurer. Mega.

Remember though, botting 5-10 characters to 100 is a risky risky game. Especially since you'll get lazy and want to get it over with so you do over night botting 24/7 with zero supervision.

Is it a good farm? Nope
Is it awesome for your main account? yes.

For my main account my characters get between 1000-2000g/day from garrison missions. Granted I get mythic+ BRF/HM missions which reward me with 4000g/mission.

If all this text is a bit annoying to read and unstructured...I'll summarize in one sentence:

The setup time is too long and too risky.

In the end this is what's important for you:
1. Time spent tinkering/fixing shit.
2. Amount of gold you get from the time spent.

In all honest I think you're better off doing just suicide farm and sending the gold over to your main account in items.

5 Druid 1-90
Suicide them farming cata dungeons.
Take the ban and take the gold.

Agree 100% - that's why I said it does work for 'me' - but again - I'm more of a casual botter and really don't need more gold than I currently have. Now and then I buy a BoE or a mount and the amount of gold I have steadily increases over time...

this is what im getting at. sure you can make a steady income with an account that you already have 11 90's leveled up on. but if it takes 3 months to get a great garrison, then its just not for me.

im on day 19 on these two accounts. the electricity has been out 3 times in the past week. i lost 3.5 days of dungeon running. but check the stats. just because you cant keep a pair of bots that long, doesnt mean its impossible. yeh, these will probably die a couple hours after i post this, but its worth it to prove a point.

i spent some time in gundrak this month and dbm is shitty at counting boss kills, but you can see 300ish kills here

you are totally right, they can do it in the same day. but you cant do both alts at the same time. and if you disagree, tell me how the fuck you log into two alts at the same time. even if it takes you 4 days to level all, you still have multiply the time spent doing that for every single alt.

i can see you still cant wrap your head around it.

alt 1, logs in X amount of time on day 1, day 2, day 3, and day 4=BOOM done.
alt 2, logs in X amount of time on day 1, day 2, day 3, and day 4=BOOM done.
alt 3, logs in X amount of time on day 1, day 2, day 3, and day 4=BOOM done.

thats three alts leveled in 4 days. it took X amount of time multiplied by 3 alts. i have to spend 3 times as much effort to level 3 alts than i do 1.
thats multiplication.

Yes its awesome for your main account. Both me and Frosticus are acknowledging that. Sadly it's not for medium scale botting. If you can automate the entire process, maybe. But generally you cant. There's just too many of these annoying small quests that you need to do...on each character...

myself, i will spend 8.5usd and be up and running again in 4 days. AND if i want to scale up, i can run multiple accounts at the exact same time, without swapping alts every 10 minutes

here we have two valid gold machines. have you ever heard of the saying 'dont put all your eggs in one basket'? or how about the business model of 'diversification'
how about the stock market, i put all my money into one stock, it lives, i win. it dies, i lose. i put a little money into 10 stocks. 5 die, i only lose half. i still win half.

there is a valid point to garrison gold farms. the most valid point is you can still run it when honorbuddy goes down. and that sir, counts for a lot. and for that reason, i give this post 10/10 for creating a garrison gold guide that shows an individual can make wealth without the use of honorbuddy. in the end, do what makes you happy, dont let my opposition get you down.
