Yes, I'm still alive. I have not dropped off the face of the earth, though, it feels very close to it.
I'm not sure what you have seen on the news but Christchurch, New Zealand - where I live - had a massive earthquake 2 weeks ago and devastated the city.
Long story short; approximately 200 people are still missing, 166 (at last report) people confirmed dead. 50% (at last report) of the central business district needs to be demolished, or already has been. Thousands of houses are still without water and power.
Fortunately I have power and water on at home. But the power drops out intermittently, and disconnects at night from about 8-10pm and comes on again in the morning about 6-8am. I have phone and internet, but my internet is barely modem speed and certainly not useable for anything .
My house is - for lack of a better description - fucked! Three rooms have become detected from the rest of the house and we can't use 2 of them. The back of the house has sunk about a foot. A structual engineer has inspected the house and said its safe to live in for now (unless we get another large quake) but its very likely the house needs to be demolished due to the damage.
I'm currently using tethering on my iPhone to browse the internet / forums. I can't run WoW or do any development. So those having issues with my CCs will need to wait. I fully intend on return as soon as life has some normality returned.
