Its almost time for me to start planning my next CC, and yes, it will be a DK. Mostly because in the last poll everyone voted for a DK, but also because of all the classes I've never written a DK CC.

This is your chance to tell me what YOU want in a DK CC.

What do you like about the current CCs?

What don't you like about the current CCs?

What would you like to see added?

Basically, if I was writing this CC for *YOU* what would you like to see?

I Want Wand Support!!!

I know it sounds stupid but maybe support for the drinks you get as a DK during the starting zone?

What I like about current CC (singular): Has mostly accurate rotations and Presence.

What I don't like about current CC: The perma-pet in Unholy is spammed to attack (like you hear the sound of it using the attack button rapidly), also sometimes trigger happy in IB causing the bot to pull mobs before the tank. Death Grip Pulls: starts running towards a mob and uses death grip so by the time the mob is on the ground the bot is 10 feet in the opposite direction.. wasting time.

What I would like to see added: Path of Frost I think it could be done :S. Also using things like Death Pact, Icebound Fortitude, Anti-Magic Shell.. thats all I can think of atm.

At Jawn: What are you? High? Wand support.. :| Potion support would be nice in general.

Some of the issues you mentioned with that CC and IB, I believe are with IB itself. I've seen similar issues with other classes.

EDIT: Jawn has been waiting (not so patiently) for me to add Wand support to my priest CC :)

I would love to see a DK CC that is strong in PVP. None of the current ones are; they get the job done but do not do it well.
 
A DK CC that uses the proper presence according to it's spec. Singular still uses Unholy even though IT"S BLOOD SPEC>
 
something i havent seen in any cc's is darkflight, the worgen speed boost. that would be nice.

one thing would be taking advantage of the self healing abilities of Death Coil. I know its a nice tool for DPS, but most people forget about its self healinga bility which is great in crunch times.


and for the record.. i might give ya hard time about the wand.. but i know it will be ready when you make it ready.. and until then i'm doing just fine :) i'm on almost 4000 honor today already on my priests I'm running it :P
 
I'd like to see my frost Dk use killing machine procs as much as possible and use IBF when in trouble/multitargeting.
 
I farm BG's and all the DK cc's I have used before is terrible about rotation and not producing any DPS they basically run up to a mob blow horn of winter stand there and take a beaten. then they wont release to graveyard so they inevitably are voted out of BG.
 
I'd like to see options for toggling certain abilities on and off. For instance, SimpleCC seems to spam Anti-Magic Zone when its off CD and an option for it to simply not use it would be awesome. I am guessing that what I'd really like is some flexibility in what I do or do not want to use, not including anything that is in the normal rotation of course as that would be a bit silly!
 
I like to see a programable priority system to make a lot of dps in raids
 
Guys... Fpsware can't use 95% of the suggestions in this thread..

I mean, writing something like "I need a CC that can pwn all mobs better than the other CCs.. It should just pwn in BGs, in PvE, in Arena, and basically just pwn in general1!!1one!!!oneone!1!" simply just doesn't work...

You might want to provide specific ability names, and in which situations they should be used.

Specifics, specifics, specifics!
 
Example of programable priority skill use ( UH Dps Rotation)

Priority-based playstyle of Cataclysm:
Diseases (Outbreak or IT+PS) > Dark Transformation > DnD/SS if both Unholy and/or all Death runes are up > FeS if both pairs of Blood and Frost runes are up >
DC if SD, 100 RP, will overcap RP with anything else or if DT isn’t up > DnD/SS > FeS > DC > HoW.
 
In terms of being "Fixed"

DK's seem to have a bug where they just stand their with their weapon out at range while their ghoul attacks.. (Im 99% sure its because of the ghoul)



In terms of rotations etc.. elitestjerks is that place for that .. but yes.. something in the gui about "self heal @ xxx life %" could be nice :)
 
Most/all of these suggestions are based on Frost spec and do not take into account Blood or Unholy. Also, I am currently using SimpleDK CC

-An option for % of health or multiple mobs etc for when to use anti-magic shell
-As frost and spec'd for On a Pale Horse have the CC not swap to unholy presence. Alternatively upon flight you could swap UH presence and upon landing the DK could swap to the appropriate presence based on spec or just a set preference in CC config (I believe your Pally CC does this with Crusader aura). My DK is frost and just sits and fights in UH presence always which looks like either I am an ignorant player or a bot.
- An option for multiple mobs or % health when to summon a ghoul to fight and or Death pact for self heal
-An option or % of health when to Death strike to self heal as Death strike isn't part of the frost rotation
-An option for Pillar of Frost whether it's multiple mobs or % health, the current CC just keeps it on cooldown
-While the DK is spec'd frost use Howling blast exclusively on multiple mobs (instead of casting death and decay and then HB for AE which is what it does now)
- An option to use hungering cold on multiple mobs and then obviously taking HB out of the rotation after you have used HC. That way the DK won't break the CC and has a much higher chance of living longer.
- Have the DK Mind freeze initial spell casts and maybe give an option of a % health when to use Strangulate, the current CC just uses Strangulate right off
-An option for empowered rune weapon usage, multiple mobs only etc.

Hope this helps, I'll add to this if I think of anything else off hand.

Because Death Knights in general rely heavily on the RNG, a Highly configurable rotations would be, imo, the best CC ever.
Mord's CC was fantastic in it's time, but DKs have come a LONG way since, and I feel that having CCs focus on then-optimal rotations is a design flaw. One patch could send the entire rotation into chaos, which leads to inefficient botting.
Would it be possible to have all the DK spells in a tab of the CC, and we rate them on their rotational importance?
IE: Have it use Outbreak on CD, if that's not available casting HB/PS, leading into obliterates where runes allow, and finally dumping all runic into FS, but have it so if I want it to act differently, it can, say, when KM procs?
The ability to set if then statement for spells on the user end? (If mob is casting "interrupt-able spell", then cast "mind freeze")
That way, the patches don't break the CC. Would also allow for dynamic PVP customization.
Take a look at Mord's DK CC. It's VERY out of date, but he was definitely on the right track with how CD's and such should be used.
