Hello.
First and Foremost: Please check that you have inputted the correct key into the updater.
If you cannot open the Updater.exe correctly:
If the Updater.exe is disappearing or the above solutions did not work:
If the menu items are not functioning:
If there are any other fixes, list them on this thread and I'll put them up.
Good Luck.
First and Foremost: Please check that you have inputted the correct key into the updater.
If you cannot open the Updater.exe correctly:
- Try running the Updater.exe as an admin by right clicking and clicking "Run as Administrator."
- Try setting the compatibility of the program to Windows 7 Service Pack 1 if you are using Windows 8.
- Do this by right clicking the Updater.exe and clicking properties. Go to the compatibility tab and the rest should be obvious.
If the Updater.exe is disappearing or the above solutions did not work:
- Check your antivirus's virus chest and search for the Updater.exe. If you find it in there, restore it and add it into the exceptions.
- Normally done by right clicking and choosing the correct option in the virus chest
- Many antiviruses think that the Updater.exe and ArcheBuddy.ddl are infected files. This is a false positive, the files require an injector to attach onto ArcheAge.exe. The scanners think the injector is infected.
- If you do not have antivirus, first off you're an idiot. Then, disable windows defender and firewall and see if it works now. If so, add an exception to both the firewall and defender.
If the menu items are not functioning:
Check the antivirus again, since many also list the ArcheBuddy.dll as a false positive and go through the same steps.
If there are any other fixes, list them on this thread and I'll put them up.
Good Luck.
