For those of you doing ACT 3 - please post your BUILD/GEAR

this is my stats for act3 and only dying around 1-3 times /h and sometimes none at all :P Cost around 50 milj for the gear

for those still having problems with survivability in act 3 i suggest dmg reduction. dmg reduction is > dps in the beginning and then you can slowly raise dps and reduce dmg reduction or build your passive skills more offensive.

string of ears is helping alot,Hoc helps, good shiled is essential...high + block, crit chance and % lifei s what you want here, physical resistance is helping alot as second resistance stat on your items against the hard hitters.

here are my build atm...playing around with set items atm for bonus vit/allres...

String of Ears doesn't help with ranged and aoe damage (desecrate, molten, plague etc)

orly??? thank god you told me...

there are avoidence plugins which really help but they dont protect vs hardhitters...thats what string of ears is for and it helps alot when your equip is not high end. + passive superstious vs molten..plague etc...

when your overall stats are really to small, you need new equip not only a strng...i thought everyone here is able to understand the logic behind my post.
 
This is in the wrong section, but I may as well contribute. I am running a 2h rend barb (strongly suggest!)

Stats:
100k dps (that is with 50% crit and 400% crit dmg)
45k life
1k all res
6.5k armor (without any armor passives. i use superstition because ele is what always gets me. yes, i know this is VERY low for a barb and i'll be replacing gear for at least 9k w/o passives very soon and i won't have my 2 deaths per hour avg)
NO LOH -- 9% life leech (max) absolutely necessary! 100k dps absolutely necessary! You won't rep life fast enough w/o it.
.9 APS (with no attack speed you will do 1.11x dps per hit, which means rend does 777% of your weapon damage over 5 seconds!)
When I pop WotB and ignore pain and cast rend on ~4 elites, I heal for 100% of my life every tick (45k life / HALF SECOND!) and do approx 10 mil damage over the 5 seconds. You should see how quickly mobs drop. They make flies look like Neo from the Matrix.

Build:
WotB, Rend, War Cry, and Battle Rage, as well as Ignore Pain (preference. you can use any defensive here)
Main attack: EITHER bash with 24% damage bonus OR cleave with slow for ranged mobs / fast mobs / goblins. If you can afford ~20% run speed you can use bash or frenzy if you want.

Other things to look for in gear:
MF (obviously)
Run speed
-rend cost


if you can afford it AFTER 100k dps, get attack speed so you can pop rend and hit mobs faster. if they walk out of your range while swinging, you will have some problems (ranged/fast are the worst), no matter your walk speed.

Another note: you can ONLY use this build with giles combat, and you MUST go into the .cs file in WordPad, do a ctrl+f for "Rend", and change the value from 4700 to 2000 (4.7 second recast to 2 second recast) or less.

If I may be of any other assistance, let me know. i have yet to try out the Sword & Board rend build, but I am considering it. The kill speed will be much lower, but I hope to make up for it with survivability and attack speed = less problems with things running away. However, I will lose 3% LL, so I don't think it's a great build. Most of the time you die, it's because of AOE that can't be blocked anyway.

Also, you NEED a surv skill for certain situations, so fuck overpower, you should have enough dps w/o it.

With weapon and shield I am getting 32k.
how do you get 50K dps with a one hand weapon?????

500 million gold ?
 
It would probably cost about 80m to get 50k dps with a 1H+shield unbuffed.


after hitting a certain threshold, items end up being almost expodentially more expensive.

Crit chance + Crit damage.
Most people stuck in the sub 50k's are trying to stack strength and base damage, which only works up to a certain point.
Try going to d3progress and looking at some of the top barb builds, then try to get the same stats on your own gear.

500 million gold is too little my friend, the rings and amulet cost like 100M gold apiece.

Have you tried the recent 1.4+ trinity plugins? there are a few people that said their WW baba is doing fine, how much fury gen do you have?
 
I'm currently at;

40k dps
10k armor
1.3k LoH
800-900 All Res

1 death per hour if I run into nasty affix.

Using Mempo, Tryraels, Bul-Katho warrior, Bul-katho solemn vow, Immortal King Iron, Immortal King tribal binding, Strong arm bracer, Sage seeker.

Skills:
Revenge (Provacation)
Warcry (Impunity)
Overpower (Revel)
WotB (Thrive on Chaos)

Frenzy (Side Arm)
Rend (Blood Lust)

Superstition
Nerves of Steel
Tough as Nails

I can also switch to WW + Perma WotB build but then I get roughly 8-10 deaths and it just doesnt farm as effective.

Note: All my equipment can be purchased for roughly 150m.
