might be custom stuff that's derping it. It's running fine here, 120/120 sample size

Are you using the 3rd party smoother tool? That is not supported with EB because it breaks the client in various ways where the API no longer works.

@pushedx would you add option for old abysplugin so we dont copy/paste it after every patch if you not gonna make it compatible?

This is covered in this thread: https://www.thebuddyforum.com/threads/old-abyss-plugin-unsupported-game-modifications.416069/

In short, no, because the use of those tools is already unsupported, and is already known to cause issues with EB in other places.

If people are willing to accept that, then they're free to use whatever they want at their own risk, but we can't establish the precedence that we're going to not use the API we write because something else conflicts with it due to the way it's setup in changing the game client data.

So basically, either we drop support for the API altogether so no one is able to use it and lose out on being able to do certain things with it because certain users are using an supported tool, or use the API and tell those users they need to make changes to their setup so things work as expected. The latter has always been the case.

It's just coincidence that the initial Abyss plugin didn't start out using the minimap follow icon approach. It was certainly one of the first obvious methods to implement the logic, but the other approach was tried first. Imagine the other scenario where the minimap icon was the method from the start, and people had this issue. Would we rewrite the plugin trying to find a different way to make it work if everything was working as expected? No.

In the future, there might be other logic where we need to use this same API, so by saying we're not going to support it, we're defeating the purpose of having added it in the first place. This goes for all the client API we expose to devs.

Users copying files is an inconvenience, but it's also a fair solution to the issue because we're providing a known working fix for something unsupported. Including the old plugin in the bot will just cause confusion moving forward, and making it an option means us having to maintain 2 different sets of logic for that plugin, which the first one had issues already that were attempting to be fixed.

Hopefully this makes sense, even if it's not the answer you wanted to hear!
