So, since my first bot was pretty successful and lifetime key was paid for 5 times over after a week of botting I decided I would rent a local VPS to use as a proxy and set up a second bot. A friend told me that GGG is aware of most providers which usually results in a ban within 4 hours.
Here's a little timeline of events:
Bought a VPS and set up a proxy for browser and PoE, created the account through a clean browser (IE which I have never used) with the VPS IP and using a new gmail
Played manually to Act 2 Normal then ran quest plugin over 2 days to Merciless Piety
Got to run one map where it died a couple times before they patched in the cheat detection
Logged into account once during EB downtime and manually did a map
After EB was finally updated I got to run a couple maps, again with a few deaths in each before they patched PoE again..
EB updated again, clearly my summon witch isn't strong enough for maps so I screwed around trying to find a good grinding zone and settle for Catacombs or whatever it's called (the dungeon next to Marketplace WP). I botted random areas for probably 1 hour then Catacombs for 3 hours or so until they patched PoE again.
EB updated, try to log in but banned
I bought a second VPS from the same place since my Witch wasn't banned after a week I thought it was safe to assumed the IPs from this provider aren't flagged. That account is still fine so I was obviously banned for botting rather than them banning the whole IP range because someone else ran xx bots and got caught.
Ofc my EB folder and .exe was renamed. I have to wonder if they are paying attention to accounts which follow a pattern of being online a lot up until the patch then being offline until EB update and offline again all day until the next EB update and so on.
I don't know what the point of this report is, just a warning to you guys to be extra careful I guess. Maybe I opened my old EB folder to copy some plugins/settings while PoE was open or something. My first bot has remained off since the cheat detection patch as I wanted to wait a few weeks watching the ban reports and using my Witch as a guinea pig.
