First ban: Exploitative Activity: Abuse of the Economy

I recently logged into find both my accounts (main aswell) banned for "Exploitative Activity: Abuse of the Economy". Now the odd thing is the details state:

"This account was closed because one or more characters were identified exchanging, or contributing to the exchange of, in-game property (items or gold) for "real-world" currency. This exchange process negatively impacts the World of Warcraft game environment by detracting from the value of the in-game economy."


I have NEVER sold gold or bought gold from a private website, i transferred 10k from one character to another on the same account but thats it. My other account dosent even have any gold on it (i just xfer mats) but the ban is regarding 'currency'. I have emailed blizzard stating this is stupid but what are my chances? anyone have experience with this.


It is my first ban btw.
 
Send in a ticket saying this and I'm sure they'll unban it :)

I am writing to you today for my dispute on the action i have wrongly been accused of on the account, PUT YOUR EMAIL HERE.
It seems you have permanently suspended me due to "Exploitative Behavior". I do not understand where this misinformation you have come across has effected you to deem my account "bannable"

I am distraught at that ban reason i have irrationally been accused of, I have never committed or took part in "Abuse of the economy".
I take this accusation very seriously and will never look to do it myself, I have never took part in any illegal activity in-game.

People know me, I am a legit player, I will never commit such a serious offense, I know the consequences hence I would never look to do it.
Please match my IP address to the time when it happened, as I believe I may of had a hacker penetrate my account and commit the offense to get me banned.

I cannot stress to you my legitimate gaming style, I will never abuse any rules or try and gain myself an advantage over different players.

Please, I implore you to investigate my account so you may see I am telling the truth hence I deserve to be unbanned. Any more information you need I will be more than willing to provide you with just let me know.

Yea ive sent in an email basically saying i have never committed an offence, as its my first ban im obviously a clean player...why sign up for the annual pass etc. Im pretty stresses atm, i never AFK bot ever and im always talking in whispers or gchat (on my botting account ofcourse).

UNBANNED WOWOOTOTOTWOTOWTOWOTWOTW, now i gotta call them about my botting account.
 
Just like to add, i got my botting account unbanned aswell.

I chose to opt for a more personalised version of roscoe's due to the fact that a simple google search of that reply links to this thread. When i was appealing the ban on my botting account i simple stated i had been gathering herbs for my raid on my alt account and that i was on at odd hours due to my personal life. The thing was, i was mailing my herbs from my botting account to my main. I asked them if that was what the ban was for and they confirmed it wasnt, this is kind of odd as if the ban was for botting wouldn't the header have stated 'programs' rather than abuse.

I probed a little further as they would not state what the ban was for directly (they gave me examples regarding programs which were 'not directly related') and it was completely understandable that they could not disclose such information, if it was for botting. Obviously i am more than happy i was given a second chance, but it seems odd that for a first offence ive had two accounts closed. Im not really well versed in blizzard policies and procedures but i would have been led to believe that if they actually suspected me of botting, my appeals would have been denied?

For the main account, i mentioned the word hacked a few times (as i previously was) and i received a generic reply stating the account had been unlocked and i was to watch my account security. For the second account i basically tried to test their response by implementing the same parameters however their response was a rather long generic reply, stating the decision had been reversed.

I got unbanned. Hmmmm will blizz keep a close eye now?
What have you guys done after you got banned lol?
 
jona, got my account unbanned and started botting again... but dont take my word for it, better to wait a couple days just in case.

Im keeping it quiet, the whole reason i had another account was because 'dont bet what you cant afford to lose' and since they banned my main aswell i think im hanging up my farming boots.
 
who said they stay safe lol, they spend more money on new accounts then anything else...
 
So basically an update: I heard from a mate that people were getting banned for tunnel programs, i headed over to the lowerping forums and found a thread where multiple people stated they had their accounts closed. They were using the same server i was and it was around the same time, not to mention the same reason. I know Blizzard dont ban for using the program directly so it may have been a fuck up on LP's side.

Kind of odd really.
 
Sorry to keep bumping, but i contacted Blizzard tonight and found out exactly why both my accounts were banned (a GM wouldnt tell me).

Basically my main account was banned due to lowerping believe it or not, there was a compromise on their end and basically Blizzard flagged it automatically. He said i should watch my gold transfers and such when im using it (even though i sent 10k between chars), its not really a big deal as they can see whats going on so basically you will get unbanned.

My botting account however was banned for 'looting alot in a short amount of time', basically the lowerping ip was flagged as being linked to people who bot and thus i was auto banned.
 
Do you think the use of a VPN on botting Acc would keep main Acc safe?
 
The often send the gold selling email even if you were banned for botting.
Your main account just got linked.
 
Will they wont give me back my botting Acc but my main Acc was never touched with a ban.
