OK so some of you may have seen me asking a barrage of questions over the month in regards to mop heroics and doing 5 mans bot teams.
So this has been my first go at trying to bot with multiple accounts. i originally got HB to level / farm some gold on the side and run a CR because i suck at rotation (i blame it on being legally blidn but i'd probably suck if i had perfect vision any way
). after some time getting to know HB and reading the forums i decided i wanted to move my main out of harms way. So grabbed a battle chest and a second copy of HB to run on my laptop while i played manually (almost manually had cr still ) on my main. The alt was simply a botting account, my idea was to level 2 characters, give them professions and gear them in pvp so i could farm mats and gold for my main, and run 2v2's with my main with double cr's for gearing and achievments.
So i set out on my venture. My alt was running on my old i3 laptop with no gpu and i would check on it from time to time when while either hanging around the house or playing wow. Now i'm not sure if it's because i wasn't fully motivated, or i lacked experience but i by the time my month had passed i had only just managed to level 2 chars to 90 and had made 0 gold. it shoudl be noted i was finishing my last semester of uni and appraoching christmas at the time but i seriously under estimated the idea behind an alt bot as i was eitehr not setting it up properly or wasn't giving it the care it needed.
At this stage i was slightly deflated about the idea of having a second or botting account as it seemed i didnt have the patient / know how to make it a smooth afk easy proccess. So decided to scrap the idea of an alt and just went to botting on my main between my manual play periods.
After some time had passed, more reading and some consultation on these forums by some smart/nice guys with experience. i decided i did want to try again as i really enjoyed botting but really didnt want to risk my main. Luckily enough my region had a 75% of battlechest sale, so i decided i'd give it a ***** with a 5 man team as i'd read so much about how automated/afkable it can be but most importantly you could complete the leveling proccess in incredible speed with raf which left mroe time for farming. with the costing of the 3 more HB keys and 5 wow accounts was a little to swollow at first, realistically it's really only about 100 bucks but for some one coming in from a casual level that's still some what significant. but i knew there were some definate benifits to this method and at the end of the day $100 to some one with stready income ins't that crazy.
So onto the experince itself.
So here i am. 5 battlechest keys, 5 honorbuddylicences and 2 shitty old laptops (one i3 and one i5), well here's goes nothing.
I setup all my wow accounts, documenting all the details in my (master bot) email account in relative folders. this email account is where i will keep my documentations i.e emails addreses for each account, wow keys, honorbuddy login details etc. once i made my accounts i setup my 2 laptops with a fresh install of wow and set about to get all 5 accounts hooked into their honorbuddy and questing to 15, all smooth and no problems so far (realised i should of quested to 15 than activated the battlechests, learning is fun).
So at this point i was really excited to get the team into the raf dungeon experience. so i start raffing my accounts, unfortunately i had some problems with this process. i feel now i've done it once i'll be fine but if you've never rafed before please take your time as i manged to only raf 2 of my accounts and didnt raelise it. this lead to 2 chars out leveling the other 3 and had to pause and quest the other 3 back up in range. once i realized this was happening i managed to sort out of rafing of the rest of the account and continue leveling smoothly, this process cost me a fair bit of time and will be smoothened out in my next run.
At this point i finally had my 5 man team dungeoning it up and was pretty stoked about it, i'd lost a few days to learning the proccess and fiddling with bits and pieces but leveling with raf once it's setup is really great. the only problem i noticed in this process was occasionally character being stuck or a wow window crashing and me not noticing it but ARrelog would of sorted this problem out and ended up being incorporated into my system soon enough.But was so much quicker than trying to level with questing.
Ok kewl so around day 3 or 4 (can't remember exactly) i woke up and my team (warrior, druid, 3 hunters) was all 90, "oh wow, super dooper". it's time to net me some bank. so i jump on the forum to start looking for the advice and tip for 5 man dungeoning. The first tip was gearing the toons up, to increase gph and dps efficiency (hutners were particular low ilvl due to rolling against eachother). Fortunately i had pruchased mills bg farmer so decided i'd run them in a 5 man team in bg for no more 2 days to gear. unfortunately after a few house of farming random bg's i realized it probably wasn't realistic to try and get full i550 in 2 days due to quee time so started searching around for an alternative. Yay more luck the wod 10 day trials still around and i can use that to get 10 more days but more importantly do the opening quests and finish of with some 5 man wod dungeon runs to gear up. it took no more than 5-7 hours to have all my freshly 90 toons all over ilvl500 gear. sure it wasn't all ilvl550 but much better than the average 400 when they all hit 90.
Cool so it's about 1 week in and i'm ready to start runnning for gold. yes it took a little longer than it needed/ i would of liked but most of that time was me learning the ins and outs of the porccess.
I setup my team and away i go. the teams starts chugging away and i go back to my main computer to play some dayz. after the first day of farming i realised there were just a few more things i needed to fine tune. just a few little thigns like adjusting when consumables would be used, queing as healer but switching to dps once in instance but the single most important tip i can give any one wanting to do this is get a relogger. Woooooow i couldn't tell you how many times the 5 man team flipped out and when i went to check on them they weren't doing anything because one of them had logged. So if your wondering if it's worth getting a relogger for your bot system? FUUUUUUUUUUCK YES!!!!!!!!! trust me i'm lazy and not the sharpest tool in the shed and i manged to get it runny fine, just go do it.
Wow finally! all my toons leveled, geared and running dungeons. took a little longer than i wanted to get it running but now i've been through it once i recon i could get to this point in 3 days instead of a week and a bit. having the wod free trial made me feel a bit better about he lost time though.
So now it's all working how is it going? well i'm running around 10 hours a day with an hour break at 5 hours. I've just finished my first 6 days of farming and i have 300k in my gbank. i understand this isn't "wanna slap your mumma" amounts of gold but it should net me around 1m per month per 5 man team (only runnign 1 team can't imagine i'll scale up).
I'm not sure exactly why i did this, to help/motivate some one who wants to do the same thing? or just to give some feedback about all the helpful people and forum that helped me get to this point.
Any ways it's been fun and i feel confident i can keep doing this consistnatly. i udnerstand there's cahnces of bans etc and i'm trying to cover all my bases i.e spreading out payment detail and the machines / installs i used for the dirty accounts. the only thing i need to work out now is weather i try and keep this 5 man team (because they are geard) and add gametime or just keep buying discounted battlechests for $5.
I hope your enjoyed my story, i enjoyed the experience.
