This downloads the weight sets from wowhead. Which are likely to be very accurate. Autoequip has it's own weight sets which for a lot of classes are all over the place and it will equip completely inappropriate items.

It's also a pain to get autoequip to ignore certain items. This has a gui so it's easy to do ! :)

Autoequip has been broken a long time. The weight sets are plain wrong, and can't be changed, whereas this will automatically update them. Also autoequip liked to equip two handers on classes/specs that should be using one hander+shield and vice versa. Also, you can tell this to not autoequip certain slots, it also has the option to leave certain items alone (BoA's). Autoequip also couldn't calculate weight based on armor type, so my paladin was wearing cloth and leather gear at level 60+.

I assume it hadn't been fixed because more time was being put into further developing HB2 then fixing/updating a plugin that worked well enough in most cases.

same error when "use cached wights" is not set.

But plugin sounds very great!!!

You obviously didn't look in the WeightSets folder, that contains the XMLs for the weights, so you can change them. I could be wrong though, auto-equip has NO customization ability. Yep.

Let's face it, who wants to edit xmls and mess about for ages when this plugin auto detects everything and has an easy GUI to customise the options. It's far better

Did I say this plugin wasn't good? No.

I simply stated that SMcCloud was spewing nonsense.

That's a little extreme. I say one thing that isn't completely true and everything I say is now 'nonsense'. Everything except the one sentence you quoted is true. You just need to fix those errors and add some simple UI configuration and it will be essentially identical to this.
 
Someone should change the wiki for new users to make them aware to remove autoequip and install this instead.
Can't get more userfriendly (and actually working without editing xml) then this.

Other than that, this CC is a lot better the autoequip imo!

Does this influence quest reward choosing as autoequip does?
 
This is doing the same thing as Autoequip, it is equiping leather and cloth items on a protection paladin :(
 
2 things mate, do a drop down with, twohanded,Main/sheild,main/off,DW,2hDW, and check befor replacing weps, also the huter weights are still including int on wow head eith tweak or convice wowhwad to change. :)

You can set AutoEquip not to do that if you go into the file for settings.

Tho I've had my own issues with autoequip. I'll have to give this a try tonight. I got a priest thats going to be picking up some greens in Cata tonight that'll be upgrades.
