by background mode, do you mean that wow is minimized? because in my experiences WOW CANNOT be minimized for GB to work. instead have it in windowed mode, and just <alt> <tab> to another window so wow doesn't become minimized.

by background meaning its running in the background not minimized

I have seen this issue without using GB/HB. I can recreate this happening when using space button as I switch focus from WoW to some other window. Not sure if it is the cause of not.

so im guessing there in no way to correct this and now im getting an abnormal amount of WoW crashes
