Paladin's are the closest to a set it and forget it class as I can think of. They are capable of healing themselves, absorb damage well, and dish out plenty to boot. If your looking for a quick and relatively smooth leveling process I would consider a paladin in conjuction with one of the CC's available on the forums.

And which CC would you recomend mate ?

Paladin is set it and forget it. Besides the ocassional manually taking him in to do training I've leveled 1-68 in 5 days of botting with kicks profiles with no gear.

this is pala:

WoWScrnShot_122210_221821.webp

only crappy gear below lvl 50 some mail and not all plate but still rollin :P

if you know a bit of a paladin use mordd's convalesce cc, if not use it also and implement the settings from kickazz

After botting the following classes:
Warlock 1-80
Paladin 1-36
Hunter 1-75
Shaman 1-60ish
Mage 1-66ish

My vote goes to paladin. 0 Downtime, raped 3 mobs a time and can't die.
Warlock second place (must be much better now with felguard from lvl 10)
Hunter (BM is slow).

Thanks to those who replied to my question, I will be investing some time to setup those CC's :)

By the way, I bought the Battle Chest that comes with vanilla wow + tbc, and I am botting/fishing with it and all is going well. But I wanted to know the opinion of those who upgraded a fresh botting account to wotlk and even cataclysm, to know if you did wait a month or two to upgrade or you did straight away.
I am asking this because I am a bit concerned of upgrading the botting accounts straight away and getting the nerf bat the next day lol :(

I will level a paladin to farm some old minerals/herbs which surprisingly sell more in my server than the new stuff.

i love to bot druids
very good ep as feral, also good pvp
good cc support :)

I have to say from my experience paladins are excellent, however I found my warlock was great as well (Im referring to farming here). In terms of leveling hunters win hands down imo.

Hunters are by far better than paladens. i have leveled 9+ paldens to level 80. i just did a hunter and it was by far faster due to such a low death rate due to he can kill 4-6 mobs alone unlike the palden. and at a much faster rate. Beast Mastery :)

Any class that can Take a beaten is good. Warrior paladen hunter or druid.

but yea for farming paladen(crusader aura) is best or a druid(flightform)

If u got a acc. bounded weapon your paladin needs 3-6 sec. to kill a mob! a hunter needs more time...

If you are worried about this, then do what I did on a couple of my accounts. Level a toon or 2 to the max level you can get and then purchase the expansions, one at a time as you level. Helps spreads the cost out over time and, on the chance that you get caught, will minimize your loss.

Slightly off topic, but for GB sakes, would it be better to bot a hunter from 1-55 and then DK to 85, or hunter 1-85?

In my experience hunters can level much faster than pallys, but pallys are nicer to have for end game botting. But since it's GB, all you need is any class level 80 or so with a flying mount to herb cataclysm nodes.
