I think Instancebuddy has evened the playing field a tiny bit (though not AFKable) because my priest did not look like an easy class to grind with, but as soon as I hit level 15 I just watched my XP/hr soar.

Thinking of the new upcoming patch 4.0.1 and the beta I will say warlocks will probably push their way up in this ladder. Reasons..

They can regenerate their health and all 3 of their soulshards every 30 seconds out of combat.
All of their spells are mana based now, and on top of that they regenerate and can use lifetap.

:D

I've bot leveled my shadow priest from about 35 to 58 and it's been awesome. Doesn't kill things as quick as some other classes but never dies and rarely has to stop to drink/eat.

Coupled with Khryptor's CC it has made for happy, trouble free grinding.

Paladin by far. There arent any class quests that have to be done in order to hit 80, it's very "hands off". Pallies can take a ton of adds and kill them with ease, they can self heal, they take plate armor, and they get 20% mount speed boost which is HUGE for using GB later on. I bet in Cata, hunters will be easier, since they start with a pet at lvl 1 so theres no quest for it. Locks are good too, I leveled a lock with a mage with RAF and they did well together.

I also have to say, that with the excellent Healbot CCs like Kaboomkin's Healbot, and the ShamWow healbot, running resto druid/shaman in BGs is a great way to level, and grind honor. Everybody loves a healer, and the resto druid CC made it extremely tough to kill, it played better than I could manually. I'd venture a guess that a holy pally healbot CC would be pretty epic too, especially once HB is tweaked to the point of grinding/questing in a DPS spec, and running instances/BGs as a heal spec, auto switching talents/gear as necessary.

I prefer a lock by far from the whole leveling experience, as others have pointed out, just run as affli til 50 then go demo. although if you set up a repair npx for a fury warr with bloodthirst it's almost the same for me atleast although it require way more gear, so still lock by far :P

blood dk no questions. you start at lvl 56, you heal yourself, its just a joke really

Ive botted every class to 80 and some multiple times. Honestly, knowing how to play the character is crucial in botting one. The ones I had no idea how to play were the hardest. Once I took the time to learn the class, they all are pretty even. None of them have a super advantage. The DK however, right when WotLK was released, wow, it was a botting machine. They nerfed the shit out of it so its in par with all the rest. Leanr the class and how they function and they all will level as equally fast.

My prefered class is, Mage, Lock and Priest. You can set it and forget it. Not having to worry about food and mana, plus I had a lvl 60 priest still in 10-20 gear rocking the shit out of mobs till I got to outlands. <--- Wand is your friend.

Here's the talent tree I use pre 50 = http://www.wowhead.com/talent#IfhrbdrhoVZbGc0o

Basically I put my talent points in those spots to do the following for smoother botting:

-Gain some Stamina (helps survivability during bad pulls and more HP is always a good thing)
-Make my pet stronger and more effective (being able to take more damage, kill faster, and hold aggro better = faster and safer grinding)
-Gain more mana from spells (Less drinking = more time killing = more XP per hour = faster leveling or farming)
-Gain more life from spells (Less eating = more time killing = more XP per hour = faster leveling or farming)
-Reduce my threat so pet can hold aggro (if my Lock is not taking damage he'll need to repair less = more time killing = more XP per hour = faster leveling or farming)

As far as "losing the lifetap health drain stuff once you go full demo at 50........yes you lose the better returns on those spells, but you still have the spells themselves to use. Even at base (not changed through Talent) they are very effective spells. After I spec demo at 50 I just usually start grabbing those Affliction talents on my way to 80 anyhow, so once at 80 I got a great farming pet, and the increased Affliction spells. That combination makes for a really smooth and fast farm bot.

One thing to keep in mind is that these talents alone are not going to make your lock a better bot without a good warlock CC, proper CC configuration, and a well written profile. I use the skiWarlock CC and think it's great for what I want my bot to do.

Thanks so much. Great stuff.

Would you suggest splitting them between affliction and demo or as you level fill the affliction talents and then the demo?

What is it about them you feel is not easy? Just curious :)

me don't think warlock is good at leveling too. tried warlocks both with darkben and skiwarlock and they lvl MUCH! slower than a paladin with convalesce. especially with crappy gear... and thats what you have when starting on a new realm. can you tell me what cc you're using and how you did set it up? would be nice.

Warlocks

You can level up to 60 naked(not gear dependent), they kill quick, have no downtime, and have a pet to tank.

im leveling a hunter right now, extremely fast and no downtime. ive leveled 1-30 in about 17 hours /played. i just set and let it run and HB does its thing.

threads just like this are like kicking a dead horse. Easiest is a DK. Other than that, generally a class with a permanent pet such as a lock (after 10) or a huntard. Paladin is pretty good, too.

Every class is easy enough, except for the warrior

haha you say that, but then u said that warriors are hard, while others say mages are and then some say rouges.

have you tried it? I have a lot of experience in this field

You obviously don't know how many toons and the variety that I have botted. But I prefer druids for herbing and paladins for mining.

I would say Warlocks are the easiest after dk's clearing due to the felguard being obtained at such a low level now.

hunter should work fine now..

- without ammo
- pet @ lvl 1 ! from the start

Note that this is not possible after 4.0.1 - Blizz nerfed DKs survivability badly (which was probably needed as well), and gave us instead a slightly higher DPS in the high-end.

Posts like this are rather useless tbh.. There's no argumentation. And please refer to my above post explaining why DKs are tougher to level now.

Rogue is definitely the hardest I've done so far, even with wired's awesome profile. They chew through enemies, but die lots and can't take ads, plus you always need to top up their poisons.

I lvled my dk from 74 to 80 using GATHERBUDDY :D I don't really know which class is the best to bot right now (after patch 4.0.1), but DKs are still pretty good.

I voted before the patch hit, and i chose Paladin.
