Dying to Grotesques

NONSTOP, my guy will just run into the grotesques pool that they drop and die. I am 1-2 shotting most mobs in my grift, I have gear. Doesnt matter when there are 5 pools on the floor and he just runs through them or stands on them. Anything I can do to change it?

He just purposely stands in everything. Not even just the pools. Anything on the ground he doesnt try to avoid at all
