Draconian Buddy-DRM security makes Demonbuddy terrible

Nav files we remain server side
server will be fixed/replaced
everyone is gonna be happy :)

At least, could you cache the nav paths on the client if we are doing the same run over and over? Maybe not indefinitely but say for a set time or number of runs. You can cache the vectors and not have any logic local to the client

So at least we would get high speed repeat runs until we changed location, a set time passed, or x number of runs occurred.

I do applaud you for the response, and I hope what you say works out. People trust the crap outta you guys, please dont let us down!

This would be an interesting approach.

However i think my super ghetto fix will solve all problems: when the bot is supposed to move and it detects it is still for 5 seconds then move at 0 degrees for 5 yards. Problem solved! :)

i have no idea of how this all works - i am only starting to understand the whole process behind the pathing

BUT

this seems like a clever idea

could anyone tell me a reason why this couldnt work?

Bot continually gets stuck in a loop of trying to find the nav path and just stands there.

Any word on an update, Tony?

I asked if the server-side pathing was for DRM, before.

It really doesn't serve much purpose other than for use as DRM. Most people do not even run their bots on dynamic maps. There are only so many different dynamic maps, too. It's nothing too troublesome to store locally.

Could it be done like how HonorBuddy did it where the pathing is stored locally once downloaded?

We have lots of support issues with local meshes in HB. A well coded server will be faster than the game itself's online interactions so it makes sense to have that as a nav server.

Yes. We are working on a version of that.

not just that, but this "program" or many "programs" this website sells (yes this is a business) they make money.. not sure if they make a living off it or is this just a side job or something. I do know that they will of course want to avoid piracy cause less people who buy, and just uses piracy to get the programs less money for them, just like any business if you steal there work/money/sales

Why dont people stop whining about how inferior/slow/useless DB is and switch out to whichever bot they want?
I'm sick of all these "opinions", "reviews" and Fking bright ideas. Devs are losing extra time with PR just because of that attitude around the forum.
Bot is getting better day by day and I believe it will be the best out there. Past progression of other bots developed by the bossland gmbh is the proof and sign of that.
If you dont like it just ask for a refund and use that superior, super duper fast bots around.

Just a sidenote about this: Do you remember the name of the WoW bot that said "Come at me bro!" when Blizz swinged their lawsuit bat?
Now get the F out and take your opinions with you or be a man and stick with the bot that has balls of steel.

Totally Agree! get another bot if it doesnt suit u... stop complaining..

It has been krakked already so I dont see why they insist on even keeping the shitty system...

The only time it's been krakked was by a full server shift, and the server has already been shut down. (I'm assuming bossland's DDoS army). There is no ***** nor will there be one. This isn't as simple as the honorbuddy authentication system, it has to keep a connection to the server, which unless you want to chuck out a couple grand you're not going to be able to keep it going.

Is this being worked on right now? Because both of my Demonbuddys are just standing completely still no matter how many times I try to restart them or how long I wait.. It was running pretty well until recently..

Yes its being worked on now. Server is failing badly for some reason.

I payed money for a service, so i will be able to write a review if it isnt what i expected to get or what doesnt match to the description what i should get.

Ah, i can get where OP is coming from; at the same time do not agree fully.
Its much like if you bought... a highly marketed title for an online game...
With the high launch numbers/continuing crowd playing, their servers get bogged down. Leaving you with an undesirable play style that the company cannot deal with; which you did not pay for.
You paid for a game that you had seen advertised before - what drew you in. - Getting owned by people with talent and true skill; NOT server lags and mishaps.
You pay - You play. <- to me, this shouldn't have any loopholes or variables.
Whatever way the company decides to successfully maintain; with whatever reason is backing this - it doesnt matter. Bottom line is that it works and works without flaw.
IF DemonBuddy is wanting to prevent piracy, i completely understand and wouldnt think otherwise if i was running the business. Retarted not to, honestly. BUT make sure the consequences are not laid on the people keeping you in business (us, the customers).
Upgrade if you need to - servers galore. Make it where the customers are not waiting on the sever. Rather the server is waiting on the customer. Have backup plans and options if something were to 'hit the fan' or numbers suddenly increased.

This being said, i would never pick another bot in today's market. DB has a safe reputation and its hard to dismiss that. But, i am still a customer dealing with a companies mishaps (imho).

Nav server is back up, and should be working incredibly better now.

From my past 25 runs I haven't seen it pause for over a second yet :)
About 400 ms response time from server, but I am in central US.
