The reasons are kind of obvious really.

1. OP maybe only has HB and is not high enough level to actually make the amounts of gold he.she requires.
2. OP has started fresh on a new realm and requires an amount of gold to keep on top of bags, training, mounts and of course gear.

3. OP cannot fullfill an order from one of his private customers (read my signature) so he has to buy golds from websites.

In EVERY case he'll be buying against a deficit. It doesn't make sense.
