Dear all,

I'm Dogmeat, author of the modified combat routine for DIII Vanilla called DBHC Dogmeat's Combat Book. I've been away for a long while having lost interest in DIII. I've checked my inbox just now and revisited the main thread and was moved by several requests for a ROS version of The Combat Book.

What I want to know is:
1. Is it really true that the lastest Trinity combat routine doesn't work very well and you need a better version?
2. How many of you need a ROS Combat Book combat routine?
3. Embarrassingly, are you willing to donate, at least $1?

As you all know, ROS is totally different from D3 Vanilla in fighting skill and build aspects. So in order to make a new version, I will have to study all current effective builds, for 5 characters, and make it so that all builds work excellently in JUST 1 COMBAT ROUTINE. That is ALOT of work. Try to imagine and understand.

Currently, I'm employed again (great!), and still playing the e-guitar, plus ukulele... (ranting). However, additionally, I'm have no money now. And all I need is just a little funding exclusively for the project to start again.

So please, if you do need a better routine, do the followings:
1. Vote. so that the numbers of votes will be big enough that is is convincing to start an ROS version of the Combat Book.
2. Comment here and reply the 3 questions above, in as much details as possible.

It works, sometimes better than other (all respect to rrrix though), thing is that while i think it is something rrrix would make better i think i could be refreshing to have someone exclusively developing the combat routines to perfect and optimize where needed, so yeah that would indeed be of interest.

I'd need one or like one!

3. Embarrassingly, are you willing to donate, at least $1?

Yes i am willing, and i will donate once my bank account is not showing red numbers again .--- (01.05.14) there i might even be able to put in a few more.

I think it's a good idea, and I think you could get donations. The problem is that all of the new people who came in for ROS weren't around for your old routine and are content with Trinity. I think if you pick one class (whichever one needs the most improving) and make a really nice combat routine for it then you can attract everyone's attention and get all the new people thinking "I wish he'd make something like this for Wizard or DH or whatever". That way people actually know the quality and the benefits of what they'd be donating for, ya know?

Sadly but yes, the routine works but to the point of using skills and few cd's and that's mostly it, no smart logic and the toughest thing avoidance. Thing is, i always compare trinity to my personal playing and then try to see how it goes. I play mostly monk and that's routine is ok but could be so much better, using some specific cd's and passives to improve the damage output. Most of the problems i have is avoidance and i am not sue if there is a way so a bot could actually come close the the human reactions and thinking, that being said i do solo t2 and t3 i can survive on t4 but my dps is not that great while the bot has problems even on t1 on some specific packs and places making it so he tries to avoid smth then he gets in even bigger pile of shit , wasting time and eventually he dies.

2. How many of you need a ROS Combat Book combat routine?

There is no reason why we wouldn't all use it if it actually does things better then the trinity does like back in vanilla. I would prefer a routine for my monk or a barb,if u look at the general population most of them play wizard as it is just stupidly unbalanced. Barb is nice to, personally i think he can do higher torment then others with the right setup and gear.

Again i would be willing to donate if this actually works and preforms better, you could even do like most of the people do on wow section , they release some public version and make private ones that actually preform 30% better and they request 10-15$ for you to have access to it. While i don't understand why db devs wouldn't just employ them so they could focus on more important things. So to summarize i would donate, heck i would even pay like 10$ if the version you provide would be better and updated constantly.

Also let me say just this, now in RoS there is so much variations of builds, different effects on items make u do different things etc so just prepare yourself if u actually would want to do this that it will take a lot of time and effort, not to mention all the bug reports, spams , stupid questions and so on, best thing would be to team up with rrrix but i never did understand why actually they don't want specific people for some task, ok wow section is much more populated and exists more time, but its kinda sad we, the community need to depend on people like nowaylol, sychotix and their friends to do stuff like profiles for bounties, rifts.

i vouch for dogmeat. his combat routines were the only ones that worked for me on HC botting afk. dude knows what hes doin trust me.

2 crusader
3 wiz
4 barb
5 monk
6 dh

Answer to question 1; It works yes but no disrespect intended there needs to be something else something better in a sense. I know the bot has a hard time past t4 when something isn't single target but almost seems it could do better.

2; It would be nice to have an alternative no doubt and test side by side in a sense per class and see what works the best, I myself would be intrested in a really good Wizard CR and a Crusader CR.

3; No doubt be willing, especially if I can run past t4 afkable for the most part. I would even do 15 or 20 for a good solid private CR like some of the WoW HB community has done.

The routines are fine with a few mistakes that are easily fixed.

The problem as people here have said is avoidance. Once more than a few arcane beams pop out, your bot will either freeze or even run on top of them.

I have been trying to fix this, but the Trinity code is large and rrix is changing it all the time. It is also more efficient for me to run Ghom instead of bounties/rifts because of glitches with ExploreDungeon.

The past few versions of Trinity have gotten worse. The bot will spend 1-2 seconds per frame when there are more than 3 avoidance objects on screen now.

I think a WD focus'd routine will be able to clear Torment 6... with the changes to pets currently they are probably the strongest class when you have a few specific items.

Currently trinity is very "meh" for WD's.. it works well for Single Boss farming but thats about it.

I own a top 100US WD (Pet/Fetish Doc) if you would like some help/ideas on proper behaviors if you decide to make one
