So my question is, whilst leveling on questing.

Does blizzard track how many hours per day you are playing?

Are there any other ways they can track you for illegitimate play?

They can... And they do... There is a setting if you use Parental control that will send an email once a week to an adress you supply that will contain an Playtime report for an account you have selected... I accidently managed to switch that on on one of my old accounts.

So yeah, they are tracking your playtime.

^^ This

My youngest son is playing under PC and I receive a weekly overview of his daily WoW activity.

If you have been playing 14 hours a day since you started how can they prove whether its boted or live play. I've been playing Since Vanilla on and off and i afk for hours at a time while my toon sits in a city. it would be a very unreliable source if Blizz banned based on daily time played.

Don't worry, they won't .. at least not only based on that.
But a consistent 24/7 activity statistics on one of your toons will get their attention.

also, toon a 12 hrs, toon b 12 hrs wont work, since they look at it bnet account wide

when you register tell them your a young teen. kids these days always play video games excessively. a 14yr old is more believable then a 26yr old playing 14hrs/day

Blizzard definetly records your play time. All you need to do is typing /played command in game.

this question is silly because no one knows.. I'd guess it would be a factor in judging whenever you'll come back from an account closed.

they ban people over the slightest thing nowadays. even accounts botted total of 15 hours in a week they have banned lol

I would still like to claim that it is most lileky HOW you bot instead of how MUCH.

I'm out of work and some days I will sit and play for 20 hours straight and have been doing so for the last 6 years, been botting 9 months so I doubt if they will notice. But they will notice if u farm excessively or get stuck and someone reports you.I never sell ore or herbs on the AH but to private buyers with a guarentee I wont farm more and sell to others. If you dont do this they will simply grass you up to get rid of you.Well gl

*shrug* Doesn't matter if they do. Some people who don't work/can't work play 18 hours straight. Hand play as well as bot. It's the 24/7 thing that will get you busted...eventually ;)

You can Quest 24/7 over a Year with the Bot and you will never be banned because of the PlayTime.

Over the last 4-5 years i leveled over 1500 chars (the most 24/7)....on some accounts i leveled 5 chars in a row from 1 to Max. and never get banned based on the long playtime...

What do they care how long you play when its time they ban you
