What about the people who think they can call everyone retards, i hate know-it-alls...

You dont have to reply in that way you know, a "i dont think so" would have been more than enough.

Now chill, the more happy botters the better bot, remember that.

And have a good night, bot on :)

I've kept my posts to a minimum on these forums preferring to learn before I make comments.

It seems that about 95% of the people using HB (from the sample taken here) are running a 64 bit version of windows. A recent survey on the US forums suggested that approximately 85% of WOW players now use 64 bit computers to run Warcraft. I know that doesn't mean that 85% of European, Asian or Eastern Pacific players run a 64 bit OS but I would imagine the figures are very close.

That means that ALL Honorbuddy users MUST fall within the tiny minority of 64 bit users running a 32 bit WOW client.

We already know that the client scans to see which version of windows we're using. It automatically launches the appropriate client regardless of whether or not we've selected to run in 32 bit mode.

Warden, by design, will be doing the same checks.

I respectfully ask what other benefits, besides running HB, there are to running WOW as a 32 bit program in a 64 bit OS. I can't think of one.

Given the changes to the client it's inevitable (in my opinion) that the ban wave, when it hits, is going to be HUGE.

Please, I beg you, make the switch to a 64 bit version of HB before you have a lot of very unhappy customers screaming "I told you so."

Also, you need to realise that WOW will know whether or not you used the launcher to launch Warcraft. Simply starting the 32 bit .exe will be no defence.

Under Windows 32-bit operating systems a single application can draw up to a maximum of 2GiB each, and I'm not sure about you but my World of Warcraft client is pushing this limit and every time I test out AMD Eyefinity or nVIDIA Surround I'm forced to use the 64-bit client, delete some addons or lower my settings otherwise I'll get a memory crash due to the client extending the 2GiB RAM limit.

Pretty sure the client is large address aware by now. Which I think makes the limit 4gigs for each instance.

You want to go by sign up date? Fine, Killerchick is right, it will eventually have to happen if they want to stay in the bot market. If they wait until it must happen it may be too late, because of the what most likely 2+ months of down time that we will have. A bigger Perhaps better bot could step in and take over. But that's their call. You have no right to call anyone out based on sign up date.

actually - he has a point.

It does make you wonder: If Blizz is willing to set a precedent case and pay german courts 650,000 euros to ban sales in one country, what extent are they willing to go to internally to accomplish the same thing?

Edit: Internal changes would be much less expensive. It's not like they don't have Devs on staff.

64bits with 12gb ram now, gonna max out to 24gb so I can run many apps at once.

Looking into using "Hydra 16" (an ancient app that dedicates well laid out graphics across 8 monitors with hi-rez... 2680x1600 min rez per monitor, digital)... yet it takes up 2-6gb per monitor... but haven't had a hiccup yet...
2x Acer T230H touch moni's. ;)

Eight monitors, dude what you running ! A Chinese gold shop in ya basement ! :P

I've never really looked into it, because frankly I didn't care..
But what is the reason of not using 64bit HB? Why does it have to be 32?

Different framework I believe, Like different way to make calls. Could be wrong, but adding support for both, would prob bloat the bot abit, and means twice the debug work for the devs.

Understandable
But they could just make HB plainly 64bit. According to the poll, 121 people use 64bit, versus 7 who don't. To me, it doesn't seem like 32 bit would be needed.
From a business perspective: If you had a choice between making 121 people happy and losing 7 customers, versus making 7 people happy and losing 121 customers, you would obviously choose the higher number.
I'm not trying to say "Make HB 64 bit plx", I'm just more trying to understand things clearer.

I know where you're coming from. But then you've gotta take in account the other countries where they ain't as free to buy good systems. Think it's just the case of lesser of two evils with the choice they made. They know 32bit will run for everyone Vs 64bit bit that'll work for 70%. An coming from a business point of view, I can understand that to.
