Do you think it will be profitable to bot the expansion?

And how extensively?

I got banned back in December on my main but am thinking about getting 4-5 accounts including a new main one and on top of that purchasing demon buddy licenses (stupid that I didn't get the lifetime... I know).

I think it will be worth it solely because I doubt they won't design the game around the rmah again. They'll likely make it, imo, that people will still want to buy things from there but I'm not totally sure.

Basically I see this as another day one since all items with the exception of gems will become worthless.

Almost definitely, but you're probably going to have to make your own LootRules and maybe your own profiles if you want to get started as soon as possible after release.

Never got banned myself. But then again, I have only one account and I always observe my bot. I don't bot for profit, I am just lazy to do the combat myself.

I have a feeling it won't be profitable, with the inclusion of Loot 2.0, to bot the expansion. Loot 2.0 will essentially make it so players don't need to rely on the auction house anymore. Blizzcon will only be able to tell.

I hope they remain assholes and are going with the following strategy:

1) Implement Loot 2.0 to get players playing again that were so butthurt over the auction house
2) Wait a while and let them think it's all fine and dandy
3) Slowly nerf drops through patches or introduced new items so the good stuff needs to be purchased from the rmah
4) Profit

I didn't make bank in the past on botting by any means but overall I probably sold 1.5k worth of stuff. I was hoping the expansion would be like starting over at square one but unless they get a new currency, reset the current stats of everything, or something else I just don't see it being profitable.

Yeah becse no one made anything off D2.

Lol this guy just wants less competition. Sorry bud.

Well i wasnt playing diablo2...and just wandering. Was ther actually anyone that could make money in D2 when there was no auction houses, less ppl on internet etc?

lol i'm the same way

If you consider the market fundamentals it should be, but not for everybody: less seller, more players (buyers?), less transparency on prices...
Anyway, the changes are designed to make the game better and more competitive (ladder introduction): what brings more players is good, even if it means to shut down the AH.

There is no more auction house in the expansion so that wont happen, if anything blizz will introduce a system where you can buy gold from them, if gold is even gonna play a big part in the new expansion, might be used only for repairs and crafting who knows.
