I just went into auction house , because I sell icethorn and lichbloom 10 stacks at a time, and this kid posted 129 stacks of icethorn and 79 stacks of lichbloom....what would you guys do in this situation? he posted them all at 13g which is crashing the market. they normally went for 25g +

I think the reasons why someone WOULD want to report a fellow botter are obvious, but to freely admit screwing over your fellow man while at the same time asking for his help, is without a doubt a piece of shit move.

Just wait a few days....they will probably get banned for abusing the economy or whatever if they are flooding the ah. I've seen the same thing on my server and watched that players auctions a few days and now I never see them on the ah or any huge floods like that

I'm sorry to be the blunt asshole here that stand's against the crowd, but I don't consider other botters on my realm my "fellow man". Other botters to me are like other thugs on the street, we share the streets but we aint homies, and if you do some stupid shit that brings the heat down on me, you bet im gonna shoot you.

I was the fourth person to vote yes, and I did it in honesty, not trying to cause drama. If I catch you botting on my realm but you are being smart about it, I'll smile to myself, send off a mail letting them know they arent alone, and carry on.

If I catch you on my realm and you are being a dumbass and people start calling you out in general, yes absolutely I'm going to report you and hope you get nailed before the vigilantes get me too.

The last guy I reported has been farming nonstop in sholazar basin for FIVE DAYS. he has not been offline any time i have been on, and when I search him out he has ninja nodes enabled. I can only pray that he is banned soon so I can make a pass through sholazar and not worry about getting caught too.

I never report them I just say if they ahve been them for a couple of days, I know you will read this and I know ur a bot. If I seee you again I WILL report you, you have been warned. I never actually do but it sometimes works sometimes not.

I don't read all flame in last pages. In past year I made one ticket, with names of underworld Chinese guys (I don't know if word "chinkz" is too racism or not, english isn't my native language. When I saw this word for first time I lol'd), which they plundering sholazar for two weeks in row. Almost no nodes for others include legit players and I am sure, I wasn't only one who did it.

For all who using BadBoy addon, You are botter reporters. Because there aren't difference about report spam BOT or leveling BOT or event farming BOT. Bot as BOT in my humble opinion.

I answered no but I do report gold sellers as spam. Just because it annoys the shit out of me.

And pallies with their extra movement speed are currently pushing my buttons as there are five of them botting 24/7. Which makes it hard for me to bot at all. I've seriously debated reporting them simply to get 72 hours of farmming in.

I'm greedy. I willingly admit to this.
If there are players that are cornering the market or hording nodes I might report them.
I have also helped other botters on my realm with creating better profiles and trying to determine how to stay out of each others hair as much as possible to the mutual benefit of us both. So I'm not always a bitch.

This is not always good advice. Pre 4.0 all herbs had dropped to about 13g a stack on my realm. While there was some still posted at 30g they never sold. One night I ended up posting about 70 stacks of lichbloom (I hadn't posted any auctions in nearly 3 weeks, and most of these had come from farming by hand) for 12.5g they all ended up being bought out within the hour by a single person who then reposted them at 30g. Those stacks ended up sitting in the auction house so long that he lost the diffrence between his and my price in deposits alone. I personally always undercut the lowest auction house price by 5% (unless there is a huge diffrence between the lowest price and the ones right above it) stock sitting in the auction house doesn't give you gold and cost you more if you have to relist it .

Of course these days I rarely have to list in the AH as I have several privet buyers that want more then I can farm.

"fellow man"? It's a support forum, for people who purchased a product. When I ask a question in a Forum from a gun manufacturer how to use the gun, or asking for help because there is something broking, it's irrelevant if I use the gun for immoral things. It's stupid to think there is a moral codex around thiefs...

John1337 and nowai should be banned because not only do they report other botters but they openly admit to it as if its something to be proud about. Doing so, they encourage it. They justify it with racial slurs and claiming that other botters are competition. Well, no shit, we all compete with each other. Just because you own a restaurant and your neighbor also owns a restaurant doesn't mean you set fire on his.

Its sad that the people here on these forums assist retards in setting up HonorBuddy only so that they can know how the bot behavior and spot and report other botters.

To your analogy about a competition between restaurants. I think you mainly miss the point. It's not that I set you restaurant on fire. It's more like that I go to your restaurant, eat a dish and see that you used rotten food. I then go on and call the government to check your restaurant. It doesn't matter if I also sell rotten food, the point that matters is that YOU sell rotten food.
Remember, YOU are breaking the TOS/UA and I have nothing to do with it.

This forum is mostly a helpfull community, but this has nothing to do with competition on my server.. there its just about bussiness and having fun. When I see another botter in a region that I want to bot in, what is going to stop me from reporting him? Only because I steal something doesn't mean that other people can steal from me.

Saying that people should be banned from a forum about bots, that report other botters is stupid to begin with..

I have reported a few, mostly because of their arrogance to tell me to leave an area they are in. Apart from those I mostly ignore other botters and let them do what we are all doing, making a bit of cash

I can't be completely sure but I'm thinking a lot of the friction here is because for some of us it is our lively hood while for others its merely a hobby.

I can understand why people feel threatned when their lively hood is at stake. I have also felt the frustrations of not being able to use the product I purchased because other botters are botting to frequently. Either afecting server econimy or preventing me from gathering at all. I don't think there will be any resolution in this thread because of these differing view points. But I think we should all stand back and try to see it from the other side.
