Hey guys,

I lost my botting account in the ban wave. My real account received a 24 hour ban, and I cannot afford to get it perma banned. I am guessing I got a 24 hour because I played while I was botting on my other account.

Do I need to wipe my hard drive to assure Trion won't detect anything from my computer? Or is deleting the program enough?

Thanks

So as long as I am not running anything that my computer considers part of rift memory, at the time of playing, im all set? Sorry if this sounds oblivious and paranoid, I just want to be 100% certain.

if you do get banned again and you didn't run the bot... then sue them for scanning outside of memory / gamefolder and you'll win

Kick read there TOS they mention there that they save information on HDD, MAC and IP....

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

You hereby acknowledge and agree that:

A. WHEN RUNNING, THE GAME MAY MONITOR YOUR COMPUTER'S RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY (RAM) AND/OR CPU PROCESSES (INCLUDING MAC ADDRESS, SYSTEM OR CONFIGURATION FILES, CRASH DATA, ETC.) FOR UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTY PROGRAMS RUNNING CONCURRENTLY WITH A GAME. AN “UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTY PROGRAM” AS USED HEREIN SHALL BE DEFINED AS ANY THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE THAT, WHEN USED SIMULTANEOUSLY OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE GAME, WOULD CONSTITUTE A VIOLATION OF SECTIONS 1, 2 OR 11. IN THE EVENT THAT THE GAME DETECTS AN UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTY PROGRAM, TRION MAY (I) COMMUNICATE INFORMATION BACK TO TRION, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE ACCOUNT INFORMATION, DETAILS ABOUT THE UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTY PROGRAM DETECTED, AND THE TIME AND DATE THE UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTY PROGRAM WAS DETECTED; AND/OR (II) EXERCISE ANY OR ALL OF ITS RIGHTS UNDER ANY TRION AGREEMENT, WITH OR WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE TO THE USER.

B. WHEN THE GAME IS RUNNING, TRION MAY OBTAIN CERTAIN IDENTIFICATION INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR COMPUTER, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION YOUR HARD DRIVES, CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT, IP ADDRESS(ES) AND OPERATING SYSTEM(S), FOR PURPOSES OF IMPROVING THE GAME AND/OR THE SERVICE, AND TO POLICE AND ENFORCE THE PROVISIONS OF ANY TRION AGREEMENT.

C. Trion may, with or without notice to you, disclose your Internet Protocol (IP) address(es), personal information, chat logs, and other information about you and your activities: (a) in response to a request by law enforcement, a court order or other legal process; or (b) if Trion believes that doing so may protect your safety or the safety of others.

D. TRION MAY MONITOR, RECORD, REVIEW, MODIFY AND/OR DISCLOSE YOUR CHAT SESSIONS, WHETHER VOICE OR TEXT, WITHOUT NOTICE TO YOU, AND YOU HEREBY CONSENT TO SUCH MONITORING, RECORDING, REVIEW, MODIFICATION AND/OR DISCLOSURE. So they have your Hadware IDs..... reformat wont do it...

the best part is

In EU they will get screwed in Court for that but in the US...? Just one Word: Glider

@ Petra:

I can write anything I want into a ToS agreement. I can have you, as a user, agree to them. However, if the terms inside of that ToS contract violate local, state or federal laws, then the parts of the ToS agreement that vioilate the applicable laws is worth exactly nothing, whether the user has agreed to them or not. Local, state, and federal statutes trump any sort of contract.

Blizzard had the same type of ToS agreement and had Warden scanning outside of it's own processes and ultimately had to change what it was doing due to privacy concerns/legalities.

In Some Eu Countrys that will be true but not in the US and even if you end up in Germany in the wrong Town like Hamburg a botter is Toast.

And in Germany if it concerns Matters of the internet you can choose the lokation of the Court because of "Fliegender Gerichtsstand" so if Trion looses and deciedes to go in a retrail they will got to the LG Hamburg (that Court is very friendly to Firms concerning Copyright)

As written in the TOS Petra quoted, Trion got a perfect fingerprint of your computer. even if you start a new account with a new "undetectable" ryfomate on you old hardware, its easy for them to get you in focus again and just do some checks, whispers and statistics of your behavior.

so lets all buy new hardware, change your isp and start again ;)

@Petra: greetings from hamburg

I'm in Hamburg, too! :D I love the fact that they were going to receive payment for the first month AFTER the gametime has run out. Not sure how we agreed to pay, but since they violated our contract I'm not gonna have to pay shit for that month and if they cash in from my bank account I'm totally gonna have the money drawn back lol, same goes for credit card. :D

Doesn't really fit in this topic, but hell it's all about the banwave anyway. Aside from that, they usually have tons of information to identify a machine and might very well reban. Their new special offers are a bit suspicious imho. Totally NOT gonna buy until I see this bot working for 6months straight. Tbh I'm kinda glad I got rid of the game, I can focus on wow now.
