do i need 2 db keys?

I know if I was to run 2 bots i would need 2 db keys. But if i was going to play one manually would I still need 2 db keys to have the 2nd account (would be the bot) follow?

To answer your question, no you would only need one if you're playing one manually. Also, some of the DB keys are multisession in any case.
