lol all i was doing was felblight farming, savage blood farming, spirit farming. Garrison and shipyard, repeat, repeat. This expansion was awful and for me it was always about just getting gold... or really i have no idea lol!! Thank you for the ban, i wont ever use Honorbuddy again.
exactly this.

Same. Without HB, I will never play WoW again. Honestly for me, the problem is much deeper. This is a problem of too much content and not enough content to give a damn about. It would be like if in Lord of the Rings, there were 10000 rings, and all of them did the same thing.

It needs to be unique, and it needs to be captivating. Otherwise, like Vannya said, everything starts to feel the same. When you take it all apart, you have a grind fest, and nothing more. Instead of taking the one ring to Mordor once, you have to take it there 10000 times, and you're not even sure why you're doing it anymore.

None of that is Blizzard's fault though... it's just what happens when one's circumstances change (we all grow up, no longer have the time to play as we did) and we've all played the same game so much it is hard to be impressed by new content from a world we are so familiar with. The effort to satisfy that playerbase is exponential. There's an excellent TED talk on city growth, and the exponential demand on facilities and ammenties to support population as it increases... the same applies to videogames like WoW. It's just a reality we have to face, the longer we play we need to adjust our expectations.

Truth is, by this time we have all needed to move on, and to BossLand's credit, HonorBuddy kept us playing WoW: because HB gave us a new way to enjoy a game that we no longer enjoyed playing honestly.

Wow is so booooring. Likely I was banned for 18months, and I feel I never come back)

So much this. But with this second banwave now it's time to move on from this game. WoW really isn't worth it anymore.

dam I only had 22 you crazy lol think this ban wave might help afew of us get some sun and fresh air

I tried a new botting method after the may banwave I had 230 toons level 100 spread over 10 accounts (milking the shit out of them with GarisonBoss). Now I regret the time I invested getting all those toons, I should have done the same thing as before : create 40 shitty battlechests and suicide botting until the ban. Anyway it's useless to invest on high value accounts anymore, HB is detected, they are just going to ban in wave, it's not a matter of "if" it's a matter of "when"

I haven't been banned using it yet... So maybe its not detected they just check actual reports now?

Or you were extremely fortunate, I don't farm or PvP or do anything that might result in player reports. Even if it did, I always control my character, just running routines. I think they know when their .exe is injected.

i enjoy playing Lego more then with hands with this game you feel me

I enjoyed the company of the people I played with. I have severe carpal tunnel from years of IT and gaming hardcore and I used to be a top world player long before I used CRs. I just wanted to be able to keep playing with my friends.

Asking myself that now, I can honestly say I haven't "enjoyed" WoW since Wraith of the Lich King. I'd log in, do my dailies, do my LFR for the week, do my garrison crap, and then switch toons and repeat. After all of that, I was actually at a loss on what to do. The only reason I still played was because I've been doing it for years, and it was basically just a daily routine. The game, for me, died a long time ago, and I'm actually happy I got banned. All of that time monitoring my bot to make sure it didn't herp derp, and the money I was investing on multiple accounts just because. Anyone else have a similar feeling?

So basically you do useless garrison crap and tourist mode raiding and find it weird you don't enjoy the game? What exactly did you do in WOTLK?

If you want to enjoy this game you need to either do serious raiding or serious PvP WITH friends, which has pretty much always been the case tbh.

Also no clue what you people are talking about with this game being grindy... there hasn't ever been this little effort required to do proper raiding, pvp or anything in WoW.

Wow Fun

I honestly just started playing wow about 2 weeks ago after a 3+ year hiatus. Seeing as how I had 10 level 85's where I halted playing at the end of Cata. I immediately used HB for questing a toon to 100. Got there and realized ...where the F is the flying trainer. I used wowhead or whatever and found out you need the Draenor Pathfinder achievement to obtain flying. So I began botting the acheivements to get that. All I wanted was to be able to fly in Draenor. That's all. I never used botting in any pvp or raid environment. Never in a group nor in any setting that could have affected someone else's experience. With that said, No I don't enjoy the game like I once used to. The BC days were amazing when a 25 man raid would down 2 or 3 bosses after 3 hours and 3 people out of 25 would leave with an Epic. HAHA You could immediately tell in SW who knew how to play the game. Now, unless you're clueless on who the top alliances are on your server,... you couldn't tell one from an another.

Yes it's much easier now to see the content once only capable of the best players. However, they made the tedious silly crap writhe with drudgery and repetitiveness. The grind just to be able to fly in a zone is absolutely dumb. The pompous nature of Wow developers that force you to enjoy a game the way they want you to, yet designed a game to be enjoyed in 100's of ways is part of the problem. Then add in the overall dumbing down of the game, pet battles, MoP, and other plain out crap ... it has really watered down what was once a fantastic game that rightfully owns the top place in gaming history. I came back to wow with hope ... unfortunately I'm now banned for 6 months on my primary account. Yep stupid me. Oh well, I have another account I guess I can attempt to bot.

WOW is just to boring now to play without a bot. The last time I really enjoyed playing WOW legit was WOTLK.

Let's compare WoD to WotLK. Obviously, these are my thoughts/feelings/opinions on why I found the game unappealing, so I'm not saying everyone feels the same way.

PvP Zones - Wintergrasp was crazy fun. It really seemed like you were in a battle for something. Waiting a few hours for the game to start and BAM, you're either running around trying to destroy/defend towers/walls, capture factories to make siege vehicles. The team with the fewer players received a buff, which really balanced it out. It had nothing to do with how often a faction was winning/losing. Not only did you have currency rewards for winning, but you also unlocked the opportunity to do a raid. It felt rewarding to actually claim victory. Now, Ashran. Extremely boring concept with a tug-of-war feel. Start at the center, and push your way to your opponents boss and kill them. No strategic points to capture. The only thing that draws people away from the road are events that pop up every so often. Both teams go and kill each other. Winning team gets credit for 1 out of the 4 event wins needed for the weekly quest. After that, back to the road, push/get pushed, go to the event, rinse and repeat. Unless you're in a premade group, you'll lose 95% of the time. Guess what happens if your team is getting wrecked? You don't get ANY compensation for being there unless you're winning. Wintergrasp rewarded you for just participating. Hands down, Wintergrasp crushes Ashran.

Talent Trees - WotLk had 3 different trees filled with talents to select from, allowing you to build whatever crazy composition you can think of. In WoD? Every 15 levels or so, you get to pick one of three talents, ending up with what...7? I forget. Regardless, not even remotely comparable. The game, overall, is being dumbed down to appeal to the brain dead masses.

Professions - WotLK gave you reason to do a profession. Not only did you get awesome buffs, but you could really rake in profit from selling your services. Gems, enchants, pots, etc, etc. Materials were worth something then, so both gathering and crafting professions were rewarding. In WoD? Essentially no reason to even level a profession. Materials are essentially worthless, no one really needs crafting services, and there's virtually no perks to leveling them.

Lore/Raiding/Dungeons - To me, I didn't enjoy the WoD lore, or the raids. It's basically just a revamped version of BC. Archimonde? Already killed him. Burning Legion/Iron Horde crap? Already experienced it in BC. Oh look, I get to quest in Nagrand again. Few new areas, obviously, but when it comes down to it...it's a slightly modified BC. WotLK? Completely unique from any other expansion. I started back in 2009, and the first toon I leveled was a paladin, and then moved to a DK main. The first raid I ever experienced was Naxx, followed by EoE/OS, Ulduar, TotC, and finally ICC. These experiences blew my mind. Getting into a raid, first of all, took time actually forming one. You're either in a guild, or you had to PuG with people on YOUR server via trade chat recruiting. It really felt like you were putting a team of champions together to battle evil. Same thing with dungeons. You can argue that the group finder feature just makes things easier, but to me, it doesn't have the same appeal as forming a group. The raids themselves had unique strategies, and everything was fresh. By the time WoD was released, basically every mechanic had already been used in one way or another. Most of the boss fights, both in dungeons and in raids, are just rehashed versions of older fights. Obviously, heroic/mystic difficulty (Whatever it is now) still takes a lot of skill I'd imagine, but beating a harder version of the same fight really doesn't do it for me. The actual EXPERIENCE is what interests me, not the difficulty.

Honestly, I could keep going, but don't want to spend more time stating why I think WoD was a complete waste of time. The game just feels like a grind, and nothing more. Grind rep, grind dailies, grind apexis, grind garrison missions/shipyard, grind raids once a week for your legendary ring (Which is much more tedious and lengthy than it's MoP counterpart, by the way). Once all of that is done, I found myself either just sitting in my garrison which, by the way, basically shuts you off from the outside world, aside from general/trade chat, or botting dungeons for gold. Very little player interaction, aside from joining a group to finish my daily Tanaan grind.

I won't disagree that WGraps was a lot more fun than Ashran but saying that buff balanced it out is bullshit :p

In WotLK 95% of the people playing a spec used the same build for every fight, if there were any variations they most likely didn't influence the way you played in any significant way as most talents were passive increases/reductions anyway and the ones that weren't were mandatory. However in WoD I use different talents on many boss fights and they also change my rotation from a bit to quite significantly, say Ice Nova over Unstable Magic is a small change and Thermal Void over Prismatic crystal or Rune of Power over Incanter's Flow is quite a big change. Granted some classes don't swap talents as much as they aren't all balanced very well but that's always been a thing in MMO's.

Professions - WotLK gave you reason to do a profession. Not only did you get awesome buffs, but you could really rake in profit from selling your services. Jep nobody likes item level 715 crafted items that are only 5 ilvls behind the first 4 mythic bosses of which you can also choose the stats yourself /sarcasm. I will agree that Garrisons made materials way too easy to get but I think the move to make crafted items relevant in power again was a good one. Also I still no plenty of people making tens of thousands of gold a week by crafting potions/upgrades etc but its definitely not as good as it has been.

Lore/Raiding/Dungeons - To me, I didn't enjoy the WoD lore, or the raids. It's basically just a revamped version of BC. Archimonde? Already killed him. Burning Legion/Iron Horde crap? Did you even play TBC? The story line/way things look/quests/dungeons/raids are completely different, the only things they have in common are that it's the same planet and some of the characters and bosses are the same but most of them are significantly different in the way they act, visuals, tactics and you actually learn more about their background by playing WoD, which in my opinion is a welcome addition. I have almost never thought OH THIS IS JUST LIKE TBC while playing WoD tbh.

First of all the raids right now are top notch, seriously besides the fact they have different difficulties the quality of the raids in WoD has been amazing if you bothered to do more than LFR. I don't like that there are different difficulties but I do understand it, before when there were just HARD raids the vast majority of players didn't see much of that content at all and that just doesn't make sense from a design pov considering how many resources it takes to create a raid.

I do think LFR is a big problem here because people don't get a proper incentive to do the proper versions of the raids because they feel like they already "beat" the content. In an ideal world they would make normal slightly easier with less abilities(they're already doing that) and just get rid of LFR all together so people actually have to put effort into raiding and get more of a feel for what raiding is meant to be like. Basically the game doesn't encourage anyone to get better either, the whole route you take while easily leveling + easy dungeons + the brain dead LFR doesn't encourage any kind of skill development as you can basically see the entire game without putting any effort into it. So I think that's something they have to work on, but tbh people should try to make the game fun themselves, if you're only going to do LFR I don't see how you can expect to enjoy the game.

I wouldn't say they only reused mechanics in WoD raids, they have definitely added new and interesting fights. Here are a few that come to mind: Brackenspore, Oregorger, Operator Thogar, Shadow-lord Iskar and Xhul'horac. If you only care about the experience and not the difficulty than I suppose LFR is exactly perfect for you: sub for 1 month every content patch and see the new raid I suppose... sounds really boring to me but whatever. I like playing with my group of friends and overcoming a challenge and I think that's what an MMO is supposed to be about.

I could talk about this particular subject for hours but the jist of it is a lot of people bitch that they want to see all content as well and that they don't want to spend 30 mins to hours forming a group dungeons and raids so blizzard made LFR/LFG etc to not piss these people off. I don't like it either but if they didn't do it while other MMO's do they would have pissed more people off than they did now. I suppose they could try to make forming your own server group more rewarding and make an effort to make it so that you can actually go from Raid 1 Normal to Raid 2 Normal, Raid 1 Heroic to Raid 2 Heroic and Raid 1 Mythic to Raid 2 Mythic so you don't have to go through all the different difficulties.

Rep - Only needed for a few factions for flying
Dailies - falls under the above reason for the same faction so it's not the separate thing, also you had to do this EVERY expansion and WoD actually has the least of it.
Garrisons - 90% are only if you want to make gold/mats of it, which used to take a LOT more effort so its less grindy.
Apexis - Are you kidding? these things have gone from rare + useless to sort of useful but you get them thrown at you like they're going out of fashion.

Ring Quest - Definitely annoying but if you only do LFR you don't need it anyway. I do think the whole legendary quest line now and in MoP was a terrible idea: Want to raid? well you better have the ring/cloak or I'm not recruiting you. O and now they made it even worse with the upgrades: Got it late? well you're behind for a long time now.

Little player interaction: Pretty much your own fault, you don't do any group content with people so you don't interact with people? if you joined a proper guild, formed relationships and did proper group content you would have had this player interaction but you CHOOSE not to.

Conclusion: The game could definitely be better but if you choose to do only the boring stuff then ye... you're not going to enjoy yourself. If you want to enjoy wow you should make an effort to form relationships with people that play it and do the more challenging group content with them preferably over mumble/teamspeak etc.
