So does anyone else feel like Blizzard did a poor job of implementing an economy where gold retains its value? As it stands right now the only gold sinks are repair bills, and crafting (which sucks at the moment). I just checked the RMAH and gold is selling for $1.08/million, and it's unfortunately because way more gold is entering and staying in the player pool, and isn't getting destroyed by proper gold sinks. Players gold stashes are just increasing in size, decreasing the value overall.

and it's probably going to keep going down until pvp is implemented. yay.

You can pass some this way, then I can finally properly gear to do Act 3 without 5-10 deaths.

Then maybe one day I'll find my first set piece....

Yes, they had no forward planning at all. Likewise no item sinks (not even something as simple as soulbinding items that get equipped!?!?).

I can't decide if it's sheer short-sighted stupidity, or corporate greed of "lots of money now, less money later" - because all these items mean they keep going round and round the AH and they keep getting their cut from each time a single item changes hand - even though ultimately it means the market dies a hell of a lot faster.

it would be nice to know how high the amount is that is been daily "destroyed" beh the gold-ah fee's %15... I just bought some new gear for my main accounts Barb for 150mil. that 15mil gone forever...

Check out the 1.05's "/player 8" command. Gold fountains will be sprouting/geysering from the bodies of mobs.

They have a gold sink, its called hard core. Only to many dont like the risk vs reward since they are way to casual

my pocket

they only have one thing on their mind...RMAH and how they can get more and more people in there to spend more and more money.
Other than that they would want this game to die and get the hell out of their systems.

Well they also came from a different economic structure than Diablo2 had. Even at that.. they had ladder season, so that would stimulate the economy periodically. But they probably did not intend this economy to have as much botted gold in it. Granted they expected it but, alot of gold in circulation is due to us, we are our own worse enemies. As for gold sinks, I am sure they will implement some depending on how much capital has been gained off RMAH, and how much they see a loss when it drops like it is, with that it will probably go through business risk assessments, and they will probably discuss viable this ( 1.05 machine) Jay wilson is also a fuckup and did very poor on keeping replay of d3 as valuable as d2 was... that is a huge loss to golds value cause no one gives a shit to play.

I believe they're in need of Gold sinks, and quickly at that... but I have been thinking what could cause a huge drop of gold in the economy?

D2 Gamling?
