Hey, so I am interested in getting a bunch of computers for using them to bot.

I have been researching the internet for days, and this is what I got so far:

  • CPU AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz box
  • CPU Cooler Deepcool GAMMAXX 300
  • Mobo Asus M5A97 LE R2.0
  • GPU Sapphire Radeon HD7750 1GB DDR5 128-bit
  • 3x RAM KingMax 4GB DDR3 1333MHz (this may change)
  • Case Segotep SG-Z2
  • Hard disk Seagate Desktop SSHD 1TB 7200RPM 64MB SATA-III
  • Power Source Sirtec - High Power Element BRONZE 500W

This costs 610e (including VAT), my budget per PC is 550e, and hopefully Black Friday will be enough for it to be discounted to that price because I am ordering 4 of these babies.

How many D3 bots would I be able to run on this ? If I am to run more bots, what should I upgrade first ? In what order ? Anything you would like to add ?

Thank you very much

8x mp10 eliteskipping barbs / machine is my guess mayb up to 10 if you tweak the machine really well

the first thing to upgrade is the CPU ... you're almost at the top end AMD-wise but there are Intels out there that should be able to handle more.

You also have to consider that overclocking your 8320 will definately eat some heavy portion of electric energy. :7

Are you sure about everything ? I saw 6300 FX builds on this forum (through search) that seem to be able to run 8-10 bots, and that is a worse CPU than mine. I would get the 8350 but I am already overbudget, I cannot afford upgrading the budget at the time for Black Friday (hopefully some nice discounts...)

Regarding electric energy, in my country that is cheap, and I am not even interested in overclocking, doesn't OC-ing eat from the life of the components in the long run ?

I would love to be able to get 12 bots on this rig here

Thanks a lot

Depends what profiles you run. The mainstream botting profile these days is MP10 Barbs. FX-6300 can handle 7 at full load, minimum graphics-no render disabler. FX-8350 can handle 9 at full load(so will the FX-8320). If you plan running mp0 profiles, you can add 2 more bots I believe. The problem with mp10 barbs is that at some point, 4-5 bots will run on elite packs that use Arcane sentry/frost/illusions, and the CPU will simply clog, resulting in deaths/D3 crashes. This will drop your IPH a lot!

Furthermore:

Consider getting 16 GB RAM/ a GPU with 2 GB memory
Think about getting a 212 Evo Coolermaster Cpu Cooler/ Elite 370 Case
You dont need a 1 TB HDD, get something cheaper with the most cache you can find on one. (500 GB/32MB cache)

I have a similar setup (FX-8320) and running about 9 bots on it. It can get to 10 but sometimes the CPU spikes and everything slows down, especially if one of the clients gets the max FPS lock bug.

Regarding the HDD, you noticed that is an SSHD right? It uses SSD cache, regarding everything else, I plan on getting less ram at first and upgrade some time after (because of budget)

No I did not notice that. Still, it is completely useless, and way overpriced for a dedicated botting rig.. Get a simple HDD for half the price.

Well a 128 gig SSD should be enough. especially if you use isboxer (it adds additional runnings costs though)
