Im not one to complain, in fact I complain if the realms come up early because that usually means they are a bit unstable. They just extended the downtime by 4 hours, on top of the 2 hours they already extended it.

Let hope they work out all the bugs before cata launches. I expect rolling restarts almost every day from here on out. Probably a full 8-10 hours next Tue.

not suprising at all...

pretty much every single pixel in the game (not northrend or outlands) has to be changed.. this is a huge deal...
 
I just think they're terrible at estimating down time period. Look at the past year and tell me more than 80 percent are more than they expected. Not just by a little bit either, mainly like 5 hours.
 
id bet my life it gets extended more than just 5pm pst.... cough sunwell
 
I don't get why they don't get better estimates. I know that you can never know for sure, but I bet if the people announcing the downtime estimates actually spoke to the guys who will be doing the behind the scenes work how long THEY think it will take, I bet you'd get a much more realistic answer. The Brass at blizz doesn't want to always announce long downtimes so they probably ask the techs what the QUICKEST time they can do it in...

I'm glad I'm working tonight, hopefully when I get home at midnight it will be up then I have the next 2 days off to PLAY!!!!
 
Figured my only day off I get to sit and wait through extended downtime over and over. This is why blizzard needs to imply a free server for when we have downtime.
 
At least they're being honest. Would you rather they said "Extended by 1 hour" every hour for the next 5 hours, or estimated 5 hours from now.

so does this help you EU guys out? We U.S realms work out all the bugs?
 
Yeah, its sucks for us, US, we always get the patches quicker, so we have less time botting, then they release an updated bot, then EU patches, NOT FAIR :) :)
 
I am so not shocked they're still down. I wouldn't expect anything stable until tomorrow. Remember all the rollbacks we used to have...
 
Im glad that I had to work today! Get off work, have some time to get dinner and then hope the servers are up to log in and play some before I go to bed.
