D3prefs resolution question

Im using D3prefs with default resolution 800/600 , my question is - can i set it lower than this? i saw some posts that YAR sets to 320x??? , that means smaller , which means higher performance , i have 4 gb ram ddr 2 , core2due e 6750 , vga 8600 gt 256mb/128 bits , and runing 2 bots , but still struggeling on 800/600 , can some1 help me improve my running bots?
