CustomClass Configurations, Simple Vs Customizable

OK so I am working on the Configuration Form for Amplify, and i want to know, do you guys like CC's that have lots of choices for spells that can be turned on and off, or do you like more simple CC's like the Default CC's where there are little to no settings to choose from?

Your constructive input is highly appreciated.
Thank You, CodenameGamma

I personally like CC's with loads of option, so it looks like my playing style. the more real life the better imo :)
Good post btw :)

Highly configurable with pretty good default options is way to go imo.

I have plenty of settings in Khryptor. Although default values are set in a way that someone knows nothing about a Priest should be fine w/o touching any setting.

Same as ShamWoW: Simple settings are fine but more personnalisation is fine too :)

customizable is the way to go imo, but then again i sometimes feel lazy and just wanna click and go. but more often than not i like customizable cc's.

Lots of options with defaults already set for me. I've botted classes I know nothing about so to have to choose options from the start confuses me lol.

I like CC's that have options BUT ....

1. It annoys me when I go to upgrade to a new CC version and it looses all it's configuration I did previously. I'm sure I can simply exempt whatever config file it uses when overwriting the CC, but I don't know where it keeps it and normally the documentation doesn't tell me. For a CC that has a million little configuration options, to re-do them every week is rather annoying IMO.

2. A working CC out of the box is great, with default options ready to go. Normally I get bored with a class, decide .. "Hey, I have never played this class before, let's do it". I find a good CC only to see all it's configuration is empty. Well heck, I don't know what is best and what isn't. Would like for it to be preset to what the developer thinks is best, then I can tweak it from there as I observe it's game play.

So not sure how to vote. I like few options with the ability to go advanced if I want.

i like having lots of options - to adjust the defaults. but i also want to have a good default setting, when trying a class i havent't played before and where i don't know what a good setting is. i love the option to have the options :D

Like he says!!

Would it be possible to create a cc that allows the user to edit the roatation of the spells? if so that would be excellent

imho it would be useful to preconfigure the CC with standard options that will run well and give the player the option to edit it more deeply...

so the lazy ones can just click the startbutton and let it go and the ones that are fan's of customization can configure the CC to theire needs...

Greetz B!!!

so i guess i really need to ask then....how many is too much?

I like lots of options so i can change the CC to my liking, so make lots of options but have the default settings already set to where people can play w/o changing them.

I have 221 settings in the latest Convalesce build. No one has yet to complain. But I did add the settings manager so people can load settings from files to make it easier to setup for those that want an advanced CC but dont want to set it all up. Every bot should have its own personality IMO. That way no two bots are alike.

What you are describing there is called Singularity.

Roll your own rotations :)

100% agree with Mordd. The more variations in the CCs, the better. However, 4.x.x is making the game more cookie-cutter so a lot of the specs and rotations are going to be the same.

I like the idea of having options which I can edit, but with predefined defaults to get up and running quickly. But I'm sure this is more work for the CC dev to include a bunch of configurable options.

I really like this idea - http://www.thebuddyforum.com/showthread.php?10954-Singularity-The-Dynamic-Behaviour-Custom-Class

It gives the user complete control. However, there will probably be a learning curve and a lot of ongoing support needed.

why can't it have both? but if it's a choice, i'd prefer customizable any day. Mordd, can you make it so that if I setup the solo pve tab, all the changes can be propagated out to the other tabs, so that i don't have to fill out the others? or does it already do that?
