I'm curious as to if the ban wave yesterday was just another batch the Blizzard held off on from last week or if they're starting to do a detection going into maintenance? Trying to be as little tin-foil cap as possible, but this week I disabled my bots a few hours prior to maintenance and I received no bans, but last week going into maintenance all of my bots were banned (coincidentally I did not disable them).

I'm sure it is a strange coincidence, but who knows.

EDIT: How many of you banned on the 11 Dec 2012 wave purchased a new account and received a ban on the new account?

I haven't used the bot since one day after 1.0.6 and I've got banned.

Ahhh, ok. I'm guessing that they didn't push all of the bans through last week (just my opinion).. I hope that everybody listened to the forums and dumped all their items or purchased a mule account lol.

Also, to anyone that was hit by the wave last week... Did any of you purchase a new account and get banned this week? After my account were banned, I purchased a few new ones and haven't been hit yet. Blizzard has done this same thing many times in the past where they hold off on bans and do a mass push. Doesn't mean the software itself was detectable, just means they held off on the bans.

Tin-foil hat aside, there are many red flags and triggers asides from software detection that will get you banned. Drives me nuts when you see the people that say "I was super careful", yet they were still botting every day in excess of 16 hours (majority botting multiple 24 hour days throughout the week [not normal HUMAN patterns, lol]). Throughout the years I've learened that they have a plethora of different flags to detect non human-like activity.

Also, when you run a bot for 16 hours a day on the same profiles (randomized or not) and you find a bad ass item, what normal human would let it sit in his/her stash for 4 hours before finally listing it up on the AH? Just sayin'.

it only happend to recent d3 patch 1.06 1.06a etc . before this i am safe 0/8 . after patch . first wave 12/12 and last night . . all my 8/8 banned ! i believe there is some detection for bot during this 1.06 patch . include a accout get after 12/12 banwave

After the ban last week (3/3 for me) I started some trail accounts while new keys came from newegg. No bans yet running same setup with yar no V.P.N. or V.M. Different profile though rrrix leveling profile. Running build 290 and 291 now.

Maybe these are leftover bans from last week or its a profile problem.

Out of curiosity has anyone banned been blocking blizzard error reporter? I changed my hostfile after the ban.

I was blocking blizz reporter and got banned.

Im not sure but i beleave stucks in random generated dungeons played a part in flaging the accounts

Tho probably revesring back to bigred champ hunting or something isnt the option

This is very similar to what happened to me and it resulted in a ban

Could be a profile problem then no real person is going to get stuck on a destructible object and relog. Can't count how many times I've come downstairs to check my bot and seen it stuck on weapon rack, breakable cart or some other dumb shit.

On the other side of that argument though I've checked on my bot and seen it running circles around a chest, the log had stopped hours before. I was using tnt at the time and that's why I switched about 2-3 months ago.

Edit: I've also turned off goblin priority causing stucks too.

Interesting.. That was my idea on it. Just seemed like there are some very easy signs of non-player activity. Then again, Blizzard actually banned legit players in this wave as well who exhibited "bot like activity" lol. My opinion -- definitely not software detection. Probably a long the lines of what you guys are hinting at. I feel stucks could play a large role in the problem. However, I feel that the majority of it is just bad timing. Blizzard does multiple bans each quarter (has been that way with WoW Glider). Gotta keep them quarterly revenues up!

I didn't bot at all during 1.06, and got 4/4 banned.

I'm hoping English is a secondary language to you (no offense). I'm assuming it is as the way you're typing sounds like a kid that just walked into a candy store and is so excited that you have to decipher what the hell he/she is trying to say...

I was banned on multiple accounts prior to the 1.06 and banned in the wave last week. I'm putting all my chips on this not being software detection. Software detection would've gotten all of my newest accounts banned instantly (considering they didn't trip wire until yesterday).

I came home from work tonight to find my 1/1 US servers (main account) banned. Weird thing is, I haven't botted on that account since the end of november.
