Hey buddies!

Just wondering how hot my cpu can be before it risky for it to burn down.
I dont know alot about computer hardware, so that is why I ask.

Im got a Intel(R) Core(TM) I7 CPU X 990 @ 3,47GHz 3,47 GHZ
(copy paste from "Right click - computer - Properties" )

Im running 4x WoW atm.
And my CPU Thermometer program says 35-45? on all the Core's.
( I know the temperature is fine 35-45.)

But I like to play other games while my bots is running.

So how hot can my CPU be? before it gets dangerous?

Jiffy :)

And in the near future, Im upgrading to atleast 8 bots.

Unless you messed around in the BIOS, the computer should kill it self before your CPU starts burning :P Back in the day when i played with overclocking, I read somewhere that 90C was max before the CPU started "taking damage", but your system will get really unstable before this happens. But really, you need to overclock you CPU (or stop the fan) inorder to get it this hot.

Sounds good! I was thinking about buying a Water cooling system. But it shouldn't be neccesary :).

Another quick question while I got a Computer-Wise-guy :).
How many wow do you think I can run at a time..

a few Specs :
Intel(R) Core(TM) I7 CPU X 990 @ 3,47GHz 3,47 GHZ
16gb Ram
AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series - 3gb dedicated video memory
SSD Harddisk

depends on the bios, not all of them will shut off.

Laptop cpu's are made to run at higher temps than desktop but you'll really have to look up your core specifically to know what it's safe temp zone is...

edit, if you're running more than one wow at a time you might want to look into mac spoofing

Well just run WoW on min. gfx settings, and you should be able to run alot :P You will see WoW starting to lag alot before anything in your computer starts burning... Maybe you can manage to push your GFX card temp abit :) But we are talking about WoW.. If WoW were on appstore, your Ipad would run it :P Ah, maybe not, but WoW does not take much power.

Arg, do not start on the MAC adresses again! It have been adressed so many times on this forum. Why would blizzard look at MAC adresses when you have a PC full of uniqe numbers (this is just speculation)? Secondly, your computers MAC adresses will never leave the house as your IP will. Lets say that your router/modem is connected directly to blizzard (WAN, not LAN connection), then this is the mac adress they will see.

The MAC-address stored in the packet is changed on every hop of a packet's journey.

MAC is shorthand for Media Access Control, with media refering to the local communication media. While source and destination IP-Addresses remain the same throughout the journey (and are used for long-distance routing decisions), the source and destination MAC-Addresses just indicate the next hop.

Because of this, the MAC-Address stored in packets received by your server should be the MAC address of your point of presence-router, or of the equipment of your provider.

I prefer keeping my core temperature under the recommended max temperature.

From what I've seen on a few specification websites, your processor's max (recommended) operating temperature is: 67.9?C (154.22?F)

Should i do anything with IP address or something if i run more than 1 wow on same computer?

Thanks for checking for me :) Will keep an eye out for Temp and maybe look in BIOS for max temp.

When it reaches 60-70C then you need to worry about :)

not trying to take over the thread or anything and I haven't looked into the issue in the past year but

I thought the mac address of the local machine would just be an easy unique number for them to grab; I think it's become a fad lately for game's to use mac addresses on mobile devices for security purposes :S Even though you're local mac isn't in a packet it would be easy for them to grab...
