Post your build and how many HB/GB's you are running. i'm looking to build a cpu just for botting. and was wondering on the specs i should get.

i probably plan on running maybe 3-4 HB /GB's

My CPU is a neural net processor. A learning computer. :)

i got an alienware m17x laptop. i7 840qm , ati 5870 xfire , 8 gb pc 1333, 256gb x 2 ssd hhd raid 0, rgb screen, blue ray buner. i run 3 GB farmers on this , and play metro 2033 at the same time.

Everyone knows what he was asking... No need to start trolling.

16gb ram
Intel(R) Core i7 860 @ 2.8GHz quad core
x2 5770 graphics cards (not in crossfire so I can run my 4 monitors although I do crossfire them from time to time depending)
128gb SSD (solid state drive) to make wow load faster
etc.

I can run like 50 wows I think? Or something like that.

How much did that cost you...

This is a fairly cheap build that I use. It runs 3x HB without a problem with ever setting ingame to its max and still pulls 60FPS on all 3 games. Plus I will play Counter Strike Source With them all running at max video settings without a problem very low lat.
Bought all from Ebay

MotherBoard - Asus p5k-E Wifi 1066 FSB $100-$145
Ram - 4 Gig OCZ Reaper 1066 FSB -$40 - $80
Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16 GHz $100 - $130 with fan.
Graffix - Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT 1 GIG $100-$140
Power Supply - 650 Watt power supply $10 - $20

Even at the top end prices this is a $512 dollar build.
Should be able to do it for $350 bucks just shop around and threw ebay.

I run windows 7 64 bit no problems. Solid system. Gives me no troubles.
Like this setup so much. For the low price. I actually run 6 of this same setup.
Each with a terabyte internal drive. They was on sale at newegg for $60 bucks so I snatched em up maybe a year ago.

Edit: I'm sure it will run more. I just never tried more than 3

mine is new pc bought just last month, phenom x4 945, 4gb ram, gt240 , around 710usd , running 7 wow/hb ,
cpu 70~% load, ram 70%~ load, gpu 30%~ load...

my pc only for botting, but i think i bought the gpu overpowered, i could have invest more in cpu or ram instead of buying gt240... set my wow each fps 20.

Power Supply - 650 Watt power supply $10 - $20

Sounds like good quality =)

No serious..when i started to built up my first computer several years ago i thought "power supply..well i don't care and take the cheapest" but it doesn't makes you happy! To prevent damaging other parts of the computer i would not buy those ultra crappy noname power supplies!

Antec 900 case
Intel i7 930 @ 3.9ghz (waiting on a 970 to come in atm)
ASUS P6T (X58) running a custom BIOS
Measly 12GB DDR3 @ 8-8-8-20 clocks (Just ordered 24GB of slightly faster RAM a week ago, waiting for it still) - I never bother OC'ing RAM. It's boring, and hardly gives a useful benefit for the lifetime cut it takes.
Currently using 2 craptastic gfx cards - GTX 460 and GTX 260. Mainly just so I can run my 3 displays (5 again soon) - These are being upgraded to GTX 480s in Tri-SLI sometime this week/next week. (Found some EVGA's for $250 a piece, couldn't pass it up)
Also have a SoundBlaster X-Fi Platinum sound card that rarely gets much actual use. (I'm not a big 'sound' guy. So long as it's clear, it's good enough for me) - The card is PCI if that tells you how old it is. (Yes, it's the one with the front-mounted MIDI/Optical/S-Video ports, and a remote control)

Also running 4x HDDs of varying sizes. No RAID configuration. (2 of the HDDs run other OS's, the other 2 are Windows, with multiple VMs)

Most I've tried running on this current rig, was 40 WoW's when I got into a process-creation loop by accident. It handled it fine. Can't say how well it performs with all of them in game though.

This rig is a dev rig, so I'm not shooting for top-notch gaming performance. What I get is more than I need in most cases.

Protip: when actually gaming, the GTX260 card serves as a dedicated PhysX processor.

You can run 4 on 8GB Ram 2.6ghz Dual Core AMD 5600+, Nvidia 9800GT no problem. I did it for months running exactly 4, until I built my new computer. So basically a $250-$300 computer can run 4.

I'm now on a AMD 1090T Six core at 4.1ghz with 22GB DDR3 Ram and four Nvidia GTX 265's (Yes I know the 265's are old but I have the same amount of video memory with four at the GTX 480 has). I haven't been able to crash any WoW's from loading too many so far with this one.

No need for 16gb of ram for a bot farm of that size. a good quad core or i5-i7, 4-8gb or ram, a good video card and a good power supply (don't skimp here) and you're set. maria's build is right what you need/want. newegg is your friend.

I got 4gb ram, and everything the same there, for about $1050... so add a couple hundred... guessing $1300?

4gb stick of ram is 130$ and then I have dual graphics cards + w/e windows 7 cost me :p so its as above like 2200 or something. (the SSD wasnt cheap - 300$?)

Ram is a limiting factor if you want 50 bots. If you don't want anywhere near that many (4-5 bots) then 4gb of ram is fine.

AMD Athlon II X2 245 (2.9ghz dual core) 58.00
Biostar A770E3 ATX Motherboard 58.00
G-Skill NS 4gb (2x2gb) DDR3 (1333) memory 67.00
Sapphire 5670 512mb 85.00
Western Digital 250gb Hard drive 43.00
Pixxo CX-5C59 Black ATX Mid Tower case w/500watt PS 47.00

Grand total of 358 (All prices include shipping, all prices are current as of this morning, courtesy of newegg) (Oh and there is a 15.00 rebate on the video card, so if you arent lazy its actually 343)

I built a box very close to this (except the video card, I actually used a 5550), for a friend of mine a few weeks back - No problem running 4x wow at 800x600 with graphics at low and frames limited to 20. He was even able to watch a movie on his other monitor while they went.

You don't have to spend a lot of money on a PC.

(I assumed during this post that you had an operating system - if this not the case, tack on another 100 for win 7 64 home prem)
