Could cd key been involved in ban?

i saw many guys reported that they bought cd keys from untrusted sources - cheap ones and all got banned , i farm with 2 bots for 2 months with cd keys bought from blizzard store...24/7 bot , u think that is a theorythat 90% are getting banned? because they buy from x y z sites cd keys?
 
could be a reason, but i dont think so, cause nearly everyone whos got banned, received emalis with ban reason: "third party software"
 
Cd-keys from gold sellers may come from frauds/stolen CC/disputes and so on.

Sooner or later true owner will notice missing cd-keys/money on CC. Than he reports that.

Eventually blizz employee must check that account by hand.
 
This was like lesson numero uno from botting D2 - used/stolen/online CD keys were usually flagged BEFORE you ever got it.

Most of the online gold sellers will get online digital keys, purchase with illigitimate means, give you the key ASAP. Three days later - poof. The payment never cleared and the accounts were closed.

Also, they use legit keys to spam general chat for 24 hrs, the hand them off the people as they buy them on their sites.

Banned.

The only way to be safe is boxed copy IMHO.
 
Or buy directly from Blizzard. It will make them happy and maybe they wont ban you.... for now. :p
 
first 2 times i got banned, keys were from Frys Electronis (store). current 1 is also from frys. been alive since dec 22
