Computer upgrade. (medium budget 400$)

So I got a holiday check. Sweet. I want to upgrade some things cause its been enough time. Maybe 3 or 4 years? If thats right. I got roughly 400$ to spend and I wanna know where I can see a increase in quickness asap. Here are my specs!

Your CPU is fine, those first gen i7's will last you a lifetime. Motherboard is fine too, RAM is ridiculously slow, and they have different timings which makes things even more awful. And they run at different clock speeds. If you want to get an easy upgrade for your system, get a $100 set of DDR3 1600RAM from Corsair and you'll most likely notice the difference.

Also, what GPU are you running? You could probably stick in a pretty decent GTX 660 for another 250 dollars and have a good gaming rig that'll last you a couple of years.

I sent you a PM. Also i noticed my mobo is dual channel ram processor AND it says I should stick with DDR2 ram sticks? Wthh? I need moar powa. So since I just read a online review of what dual channel means and what I need..which is DDR2.....am I screwged on the DDR3? o.0 Hope this makes sense.

Not at all, DDR3 is far superior to DDR2 in every single way. You have DDR3 support on your motherboard right? You don't need DDR2 at all.
